An excellent choice. You won't be disappointed
In researching various options, one of the first videos I saw said you can't use both a paper filter & the basket filter simultaneously. That is uncategorically wrong. In fact, I recommend both, & I will explain why later. Another review that I read said that the lettering wore off the buttons. I have had mine for a year, with no problem with the labelling. I read a review that said it is loud. Spoiler's alert. It's a burr grinder. ALL BURR GRINDERS ARE LOUD. I own several different varieties of burr grinders, & never has any of them been quiet. The good news is that it only grinds for 30 seconds (Yes, I timed it). So, it is a minor inconvenience. And finally, removing the lid is easy, despite what one reviewer wrote. All lids have little tabs on the flat extension. Remove the lid by pulling on those tabs. You just have to know the best place on the lid to do it. I owned the precursor for this model & after nearly 10 yrs, I had a problem with a part that was no longer manufactured by Cuisinart & the third party replacement part was defective. So, I went with this model. It was a good decision. They made some design changes which improved the unit. It does everything it advertises, & does it well. It is also well constructed. The programing for the clock & the programming timer are intuitive Okay, as to the paper filter, I have included some photos. NO BASKET FILTER will completely prevent some ground coffee from permeating into the carafe. Unless they prevented water flow completely. So, add the paper filter around the basket, & it will capture the slight amount of grounds from dripping into the carafe. In closing, this is an excellent machine. And I suspect that it will be another decade before I need to write a new review.

A Slightly Noisy Hero of the Morning Quest
I bought this grind-and-brew coffee maker a couple of years ago, and from the very first morning it felt less like an appliance and more like a small enchanted creature living on my counter. Each dawn, before the sun has fully stretched its golden fingers across the kitchen, my noble little machine awakens. With a mighty whirrrrrr—loud enough to rattle the castle gates—it grinds the beans like a determined dragon guarding its treasure. Yes, it is noisy. There is no gentle woodland whisper here. When it grinds, it announces itself. If you’re hoping for silent sorcery, this is more “battle cry at sunrise.” But honestly? That bold roar is part of the charm. It means magic is happening. And oh, the magic. The aroma that follows is rich and comforting, like stepping into a cozy tavern after a long quest. Freshly ground beans brewed immediately into a warm, perfect pot—every time, as long as I uphold my end of the royal bargain. Now, here lies the cautionary tale. This noble machine is loyal—but it expects respect. Should you forget to empty the used grounds from the previous brew, or neglect to pour out yesterday’s remaining potion from the pot, it may stage a dramatic rebellion. And by rebellion, I mean… it will overflow. Spectacularly. This is not a flaw of the kingdom’s machinery; this is entirely the absent-minded wizard’s fault (that would be me). So heed this warning: dump the used grounds and empty the pot before starting anew, and peace shall reign. After years of faithful service, it still brews beautifully. Strong, fresh, flavorful coffee at the push of a button. Despite its enthusiastic volume and its intolerance for skipped steps, I would absolutely choose this trusty countertop companion again. If you seek convenience, fresh-ground flavor, and don’t mind a little morning fanfare, this grind-and-brew hero is well worth inviting into your castle. ☕✨

Good, but not 100%
This is the third Grind & Brew we've purchased. We were very happy with the last two, but this one has some issues. The grind is so much noisier than the previous models, the carafe actually shakes while it's grinding. The carafe is the other issue - unless you hold it just right, the coffee drips all over as it's pouring. Everything else is fine, but this newer version is not an improvement in my opinion.

New design
This is my third Cuisinart automatic grind and brew coffee maker in 20 years. First two the grinder stopped working after 10 years. This model\nHas a different designed grinder Looks it's simpler and a better design. One feature new to me.Is the programmable warming plate! The machine comes pre programmed at 2 hours. You can program it from 0 to 4 hours. I set mine for thirty minutes... I don't like the taste of burnt coffee. The price is right too. My first one I bought at Lowe's(20 years ago) was $200.

Should have returned this
We had a different cuisinart model grind&brew coffee maker for about 3 years that was excellent, so we figured this one would have similar features. It is nowhere near as good. I could duct tape a cheap blade grinder to a mr coffee brewer and get same effect. While it makes decent coffee, it’s not a good design. It has a cheap very loud blade grinder that leaves up to a scoop of unground beans in it. The cover of the grinder and the chute to the brew basket clog with grounds and have to be cleaned nearly every use, a messy process because of the coffee sludge that builds up. It’s hard to pour the beans into the grinder without spilling. The entire machine must be pulled completely out from under the kitchen cabinet to open the long cover. There’s no brew strength or grind size adjustment. We debated returning it until it was too late and may buy another brand anyway. I silently curse this thing every day. Shop carefully, spend a few more bucks-as we should have done. Cuisinart, we’re disappointed. ☹️

Great coffee maker - Follow the factory maintenance instructions
The Cuisinart Grind a Brew is a great coffee maker. So good, we take it on road trips with us when we’re staying in a rental. But, if you don’t intend to follow the recommended factory maintenance schedule, don’t buy this coffee maker. Even if you follow the maintenance schedule, expect it to last about five years. That’s basically $20 a year, so we still find it a good value compared to other grind and brew options.

From zero to hero, depending....
There are things i really like about this unit.... charcoal water filter is nice for those of us on tap water (makes a difference). It looks nice and it brews well. BUT... it struggles to make a full pot without screwing up, unless you prefer weak diner-style coffee. The basket is either (a) not big enough, (b) poorly designed, or (c) both. For a 12 cup pot, ive had complete overflows (like, put onto the counter) at least 3 times and have had grounds in the pot at least a dozen times. Water delivery is too fast which makes grounds overflow the "lid" of the basket (made that way because of the grinder aspect) if there is an appropriate amount of coffee (1 scoop per cup). Additionally, the grinder works ok, but is difficult to clean. In fact, that is the central bullet point here---- this thing is MESSY to use. Lastly, the safety switch will not allow the maker to operate unless the grinder is in inplace, whether its being used or not. This design keeps the grinder bucket sopping wet at all times, requiring it be removed, cleaned, and DRIED *EVERY TIME* before it can be used. A real pain. TBH, for the price of this thing, I would definitely get something else... heck, maybe 6 or 7 something elses, since this one costs 6 or 7 times what a cheap manual pot does, and the coffee isnt any better. Ymmv i guess.

Great coffee maker
I owned the older model of this coffee maker: DCC-1200P1 and had it for at least 15 years. It was awesome and was in love with it. I purchased this new model since it has a grinder in it and it's a great brand. I like it and it's very functional. Overall, I'm happy. 1. I wish the grinder allowed for different ground sizes. It's just one setting, one size but it's not a big deal as it makes great coffee. 2. I would move the 1-4 Cups button above the Program button. People use the 1-4 cups button more than the Program button so I wish it was on top so you would hit all 3 top buttons to get the coffee maker started. Right now, you have to hit 2 buttons on top and 1 down. Again, not a big deal but just a design improvement IMHO. Maybe I'm being OCDish. Lastly, once coffee is made, I noticed the coffee maker shuts off after 1 hour. I think the previous model used to remain on for 2/3 hours, if I recall correctly. Anyway, not a big deal at all on these. This is a very safe choice and a great coffee maker to go with across the board and I recommend it.

Good Coffee Maker/Grinder Combo
It’s a well made coffee brew/grinder combination. However, like many of the glass pot coffee makers on the market, the hot plate isn’t adjustable.

Love my Cuisinart DGB400
We have had a few Cuisinart’s for many ,many years and we love that coffeemaker! The company stands behind its product always! Never had a problem with a return when the need did arise & therefore why would we change for something different! We love the grind and brew, excellent coffee ,easy to use, easy to clean & frankly we are used to the sound of the grind! It is loud ,no doubt about it, but we love this coffeemaker & not changing because it’s a bit loud!!!

Cafetera qué da gran sabor a tu taza
