BANDAI Hobby HG Hyakuren Amida Use Gundam IBO Building Kit (1/144 Scale)

One of the best IBO HGs so far. It's flexible and sturdy, and it has an extra gun on top of the regular Hyakuren equipment. The pink color is delightful. The only cons I can think of are that the neck joint is slightly loose and unlike some other IBO kits ir only has a partial inner frame. It's just a fun kit, would buy again.

Fun kit, no IBO floppy frame, but it can shed bits especially when posing the rather limited leg range due to the side skirts.Not so fun paint job. tho! The nail varnish job in another review is pretty cool, this model kinda lends itself to coloring up (its a duck!)Added “First rule of Duck Club…” diorama. Ducks in the pond are HO scale, not N scale and not giant mutant ducks… tho they could be!

Great easy build, looks fantastic, no loose parts. All around great looking set and very poseable.

I really like the design of the Hyakuren. I purchased this gunpla knowing that it had some issues, so I'll try to be as straightforward as I can with my score breakdown.PROS:Nice looking kit, very minimal use of decals thanks to good color separation with the parts. Good selection of accessories including 2 rifles, a single-bladed sword with sheath that can be attached to the rear skirt plus 2 knuckle guards integrated into the side skirting. All in all, aesthetically does the Hyakuren justice.CONS:Embarrassingly bad articulation at the hips and knees thanks to wraparound side-skirting that barely moves. It is physically impossible to get the dynamic poses out of this that you may achieve with other gunpla. While color separation may be good, color accuracy is a bit... off. I have checked under multiple light sources and this is a weird creamy/pastel pink with brown and white. The original art has it being more vibrant pink and maroon. Kind of gives off a Neapolitan vibe.FOR BEGINNERS: 3 starsUnless you're a die-hard fan of the Hyakuren and absolutely MUST have this be your first gunpla, I would generally advise against it, as it's a bad representation of what the hobby is. There's very little opportunity to panel line this kit, and with the previously mentioned bad articulation there's just not many options for displaying this in an eye-catching way. A beginner could certainly build this kit, but I would feel bad if anyone used it as a benchmark for quality.EASY TO ASSEMBLE: 4 starsNothing much to say here. The build is not complex, but what few decals this kit has are irritating to get on. The eye decals and the triangles that go on the shoulder armor are some of the smallest I've seen on a high grade. Period. Definitely use a tool, as your finger probably won't suffice.ACCURACY: 4 starsAgain, aesthetically this gunpla nails the shape of the Hyakuren, but the colors are just ever so slightly off.

An excellent kit, as almost all of the IBO kits have been. Came a few days early, wrapped in a Japanese news paper which was really neat to look through and a cute little bag as an extra gift i'm gonna find a way to fix to the model. The sword is probably the coolest part of the model, love it. Only a few small gripes but nothing enough to make a deal out of, definitely recommend.

This kit amongst the few I've built is one of the better IBO kits that I have. Looks great, has more articulation for something of this bulkiness. Though note mentioning that the head has a very flimsy joint and the arms pop out somewhat easily. Looks great with minimal stickers and ever better with panel lining.
