Similar to commercial breakfast sausage. Very good.
It’s good. Similar to commercial breakfast sausage. I used 2 Boston pork roasts, cut it all up and ground it. Ended up with 12 lbs so added one whole pouch. Added water according to the recipe in the box, and it turned out great. Used vacuum sealer to make 12 1 lb packs.

Breakfast like with a little heat!
I have used the original breakfast blend for years. And then I found this, prairie sage. Decided it’s gotta be worth trying…OH, it was worth it for sure! We love it here and we process our own meat annually. Our first run we used it in our pig processing, used it straight to recipe recommendations, it’s got a nice little heat bite! Since then we’ve used it in venison and also in turkey.If you like making your own breakfast sausage…you’ll want to give this one a try if you enjoy a little heat.We did find that in the venison we added a little over the recommendation on a second run to bring out all the flavors more. Seems in red meat to us, it needed a little extra. Might of just been our personal preference.Hope this review helps y’all out!

Meh - Just adequate
Bought this on a lark to see if it was better than mixing my own spices. I followed the instructions exactly (measure product per pound of ground pork; pretreat the meat before grinding and hand mix afterward). I found it to be a bit bland. In fact, after making a few patties, I decided to 'doctor it up' a bit by adding additional sage, black pepper and red pepper flakes. I'll use the rest of the two-pouch pack, but probably won't buy it again.

Good stuff, great flavor. Mixed with a 70/30 venison/beef fat and it came out excellent.

Too salty
I make lots of sausage. All types and use some of Hi Mountain seasons. I was looking for a different pan sausage season and thought I would give this a try. I am very precise about the measurements I use. I let 4 others taste the pan sausage. All agreed it was too salty. This is not the first pre-blended season that had this problem. Makers of seasons should cut back on the salt and let the user add more salt if needed. Once it's in the mix there is little you can do.Other than the salt it had excellent flavor. So I would not buy this again. Too salty.

Actually, pretty good
I added this seasoning to my pork shoulder grind and expectations were low and this made sausage better than from any major brand. I was surprised at how good it was and the only ingredient that seems man-made is the MSG. That’s not a problem for us. I have now tried some other seasonings because of the success with This seasoning.
