Tiger Force: A True Story of Men and War

an unwarranted hit piece....
This book is highly unrepresentative of the US forces who fought in Vietnam. I guarantee you the authors of this book never wore a uniform or participated in combat. I have 420 days in-country, I was with the 2/327th at Tuy Hoa and those were professional soldiers without exception. War is a terrible business. It's also a vast enterprise involving the whole spectrum of our society and there is potential for breakdowns in discipline. But these are aberrations and with proper leadership isolated and do not warrant painting with a negative broad brush. This book should be read with great skepticism and is not worthy of the great Americans who fight and die for our country.

Great book
I liked this book , but I am not sure that I agree with prosecuting these men the viet con were just as bad. So how were our men any different.

A Story I Never Knew
I was in junior high and high school during the Vietnam War. I was unaware that these things that happened. I had read that the Toledo Blade had carried much of this story. I believe that in hind sight we never should have entered this war. Reading this I felt shame that our military did these things.

This book will enforce your belief that we didn’t belong there
Like it real well it showed life in Vietnam. Left with the question why do we try these people. We trained to be killers then left them in the field so long they started to go crazy

Horrified the US army would want to bury this
What the men of tiger force did was diabolical. But that is nothing compared to the us army's shameful determination to try and bury it.They owe it to the decent US soldiers that have fought and died with honour to show that such depravity is unacceptable.Anyone who looks away or pretends it didn't happen is just as guilty, if not guilty of a much worse crime.

Dissapointing
Underwhelming and hugely dissapointing. The acts depicted within are indeed heinous and brutal. But as a piece of literary work, the focus of this review, I found this style melted into one event in a clunky fashion, surged too much character backgrounds and did not flow: I lost the narrative. I really struggled with it. The single best read on this issue is 'Kill Anything That Moves' by Nick Turse.

Excellent story......
.....Of what happens to a unit plunged into a situation, operating with no restraint, and more shockingly, encouragement to murder from the hierarchy. This is what happens when you fight a war without clear objectives (overall), and really bad leadership and lack of accountability. Great book, well written
