This works well also on Linux! 👍
Plug & Play and worked right away on my Linux machine running MX Linux (Debian). I was able to use this QR scanner to manually import and register the QR code using direct input option on my 2FAuth docker app. Just first scan the QR code and output it on a text editor then copy and paste it on the Direct Input section of your 2FAuth docker app. I do this to have a backup of my important QR codes used for one-time authentication logins in case I lost my phone or have no immediate access to it. I only realized how important to have backups of my QR codes after I forgot to bring my phone one time and I can't authenticate myself on the site I'm trying to login without it since my phone has all my 2FA codes.

Light weight but works great
It’s lighter than I thought it would be. Make sure the cord is pushed in and it works. I had some issues in the beginning with it disconnecting. I guess I didn’t have the connector fully pushed in. Working great now.

Works great and the customer service is top-tier!
I have had my scanner for almost a year and it has helped me so much. From renaming hundreds of PDFs (used to take me hours!) to inventorying our warehouse before we updated our systems. This little guys has saved me so much time! With our updated systems I no longer have to update the PDFs so I thought that this little guys was no longer going to be of use. My team realized that we could use it to dispatch our drivers quickly and efficiently. But I found I could not for one simple reason...Their customer service team had helped me create a special code to allow me to scan the pdf by removing the last letter in the barcode and hit enter for me so all I had to do was scan and go! That was so helpful at the time I thought I would cry! That was almost a year ago. Now that I no longer need to do that, I needed to change my scanner back to factory settings BUT.... I lost the manual... So I reached out to their team again to see if I could get a copy. Their team quickly responded and sent it right to me!!!!!!! I am so thankful for their customer service team!! Quick and responsive! They help me with whatever I need!

Piece of junk - Stopped working after one usage
Total piece of garbage. Bought this back in April and used it twice and it worked fine. Needed it again today and when I plugged it into my usb port it was totally dead and would not power up. Piece of junk and too late to return.

Overall reliable and easy to use.
Device reads a surprising number of unusual or oddly-placed barcodes, QR codes and other formats. The manual includes special QR codes as well which allow you to tell the scanner to add a tab or return character which is super useful when scanning multiple consecutive items into a spreadsheet or database. The only limitation is, in some cases, it simply "doesn't like" codes which, in my opinion, it should read. These are generally clearly displayed with good contrast, but for some reason it simply doesn't like them. This could be a physical limitation, where one has to get very close for the contrast to be high enough, but at that range the barcode is too big, or something like that. It routinely grabs off-angle, hard-to-see QRs which I'm surprised at, so the limited occasions in which it doesn't read a bar is surprising. But again, I'd say 95% of the time, it does the job. Definitely worth not having to re-type 64 character serial numbers all the time.

KNOW WHAT'S IN THE BAR/QR CODE BEFORE HAND
It is so easy to get scammed over the internet these days. As careful as one can be, sooner or later everyone falls for a misdirected scam. Most cell phones have an app that scans bar/QR codes and takes you directly to the website. But how do you know the code is legitimate? Plus, what if you want to scan something into your laptop/desktop computer? This bar code reader is easy to setup and use. I plug it into the USB port. It is automatically recognized by my OS. Before scanning, I open Notepad, place the cursor inside Notepad, and scan the code. The contents of the bar/QR code appear as text inside Notepad. I can examine the contents and determine if it is legitimate or a fake address. It it's a good address I know I can scan the code using my cell phone. If using my laptop/desktop computer, I will open the web browser, place the cursor in the address bar and scan the code again. Viola!Now-a-days hackers, phishers and scammers make a legitimate address look almost like the real thing. With more people and businesses using QR codes, it's hard to tell if there is anything harmful embedded into the code. This inexpensive handheld scanner can let you "know before you go" to a web site. It's another tool in your arsenal to protect yourself while being online.
