Great set for the cost
Great set for the cost. Worked perfectly on a Volvo C70 I had to do a head gasket on. Through other dealers a set like this can cost up to $500.00. Recommend highly

Necessary for timing components replacement
Skeptical at first most because of reviews saying that this tool breaks But did work with no flaws Would say that helps when you have the timing belt installed to make camshafts bolt removal & torque adjustments

worked great for 1/4 the cost
used to hold cams in place on 2000 volvo v70 2.4 . The aftermarket volvo site sells this for $200 which was not an option for me on a single use tool

All the tools in the kit are very good quality and exactly what is needed
Has everything you need to align the cams with the crank. All the tools in the kit are very good quality and exactly what is needed. If the engine does not run right when you start it up, it is not the tool. You have to go back and read the procedure. It is not the same as doing an engine without VVT. The camshafts have to be held in one position while you twist the VVT sprockets to their correct position and then install the chain.

This tool broke the first time using it.
This tool seemed to be well but it broke after one use. The nubs that engage the slotted cam shaft end have developed significant cracks. I used a 3/8 standard length ratchet wrench to tighten the cam sprocket bolt in place. I do not feel comfortable reusing this tool again for fear that it will shear completely while I am tightening the cam sprocket. I was surprised and disappointed by this failure.

Not strong enough! Camshaft Holder Broke - see pictures
This is a complete kit for removing Volvo camshaft sprockets and timing the engine. Unfortunately the metal used on the camshaft locking tool is weak and sheared when using it on a customer's '05 Xc90. The T60 bolts that hold the camshaft sprockets are supposed to be torqued to 85ft lbs. This tool sheared off before I could loosen the factory-installed bolts on both the intake and exhaust sprockets. The crankshaft locking tool that's mounted behind the starter, worked perfectly. I didn't use the rest of the kit so I can't speak for its capabilities.I had to source another tool to complete this job from a local Volvo repair shop. Their tool was also an Amazon purchase and it worked great. I have since purchased one from CTA tools that worked perfectly on a different XC90, without fatiguing the metal.I was refunded by seller, but this could have bent valves if I wasn't paying close attention.
