A New Family Favorite!!!
Boom Boom Balloon has proven to be on of the most fun and popular games in our household. This review will outline the product and gameplay. Firstly, I'll mention that I purchased this for my family which includes my 4 year old daughter. The game is rated for children over 8, but my daughter has no problem playing the game. The product itself is made of plastic. The primary beams seem sturdy. I'll be curious to see if the plastic clips that allow the poking sticks to stay in place will hold up over time. I'm not too terribly concerned as the price is inexpensive to purchase a new one. The grey poking sticks seem a bit flimsy. I have to help my daughter sometimes....not to make sure that she can poke them through, but rather so she doesn't accidentally snap a stick. Luckily, the box includes 10, and the game only requires 9. I also need to make sure she doesn't accidentally push them too far in too fast as the sticks require a good amount of force to push in, but it must be a controlled force as to not insert too far and prematurely pop the balloon (note: this has not happened, but I can anticipate it). The balloons supplied seem to work well. They rarely POP, they rather slowly deflate on most occasions. This is good that they don't pop into multiple smaller pieces that kids or animals could eat, as with most balloons. I may purchase the manufacturers overpriced replacement balloons because they seem to work so well. If purchasing, I would suggest buying the game as well as a pack or two of replacements. The gameplay couldn't be simpler, which is greatly appreciated. You simply roll th dice (1-3) and push in the sticks the corresponding number. You can choose to poke one stick, or multiple to add up the total number rolled. Tension builds each time you roll the dice and find out how many clicks you'll land on. The poking sticks included strategically move in less and less each time to prolong the game. The game is fun and doesn't lose interest, even after playing multiple times. Each game turns out different. I've noticed that if I inflate the balloon slightly more or less it completely changes the strategy and fun. I hope you enjoy this review!

Scary fun for ALL ages
If you want to live in fear while giggling and having fun, this is the game. WHY does the anticipation of a balloon popping make one’s heart race? Anxiety central but in the best family fun way ;)

My kids and students love this game
This is a geat game to play as a family and at work if you work with kids. I initially got this for my daughter to have a fun way to memorize her math facts. So we would play and I would ask her what is 3x5 for example and give her 10 seconds to answer if she got it she could roll the die, if not i would tell her the answer have her say the whole thing 5 times out loud then would be next persons turn. But I saw I could use it in a lot of ways such as just for fun or a quick science lesson about why the ballon will eventually pop when you apply pressure to it, or elasticity so I got one for work too. Overall fun game. Also dont be detured from buying it if you think you need these particular ballons that come with it. After i used all the ones it came with i just went to the dollar store and got some regular ones and drew silly faces on them with a sharpie. Kids love being able to choose the colors of the ballon. Anyhow i reccomend to all

Cute game, but could have been made better...
This is a cute game, but they really should have perfected the design before selling it. But before I get into that, here's what comes inside the box: Circular Game Frame; which consists of 3 red legs, 1 lower connector piece (what the balloon sits on), and 1 upper connector piece (which holds the 3 legs at the top...this is the problem piece). There are also 12 balloons with faces (all of the faces are exactly the same, no variety), 10 sticks (you'll only use 9, one is called a "bonus stick", but it's just in case you lose or break one, I guess), 1 die, and instructions. I won't go into how the game works, because I'm sure you already know that. Other reviewers have mentioned how the game falls apart. I knew that was a potential problem before I bought this, but I also knew my daughter really wanted it...so I figured maybe ours will be fine (I know...wishful thinking to justify buying something). Well, what the other reviewers said is true. It does come apart. Within seconds of playing the game the the upper connector was coming apart from the legs. I kept pushing the legs back into the connector, but it just kept happening. Finally I gave up and just let it alone the rest of that first game. Right after the first balloon popped my daughter said, "Let's play again!" What kid could only play once? For the second game I decided I had to fix this upper connector problem. I got out the handy dandy duct tape. I used 3 pieces across the top to hold the upper connector and the 3 legs together. It worked perfectly...it just doesn't look pretty. But, that's ok with us. Because of the duct tape, I won't be disassembling this game each time and storing the pieces in the box. We'll just keep the legs connected to the upper connector and store it on a shelf somewhere. Other than that problem, the game is pretty good. I do think it's a bit pricey for what you get. The balloons seemed to pop a little earlier than we had expected. And, both times they popped it was in between turns. In other words, I pushed in the sticks on my turn and everything seemed fine. As my daughter was rolling the die to see how many clicks she would need...the balloon popped. That happened both times we played. Both times the pop took us by quite a surprise. And, the pop were REALLY loud. In fact, the instructions have a warning that says, "Do not use close to ears or head. Misuse can cause damage to hearing or eyes." So, as with most things...supervise your kids when they play this game. The balloons included are made of latex. They say right in the instructions to not put them in your mouth to blow them up, but instead to use a balloon pump. I don't know that everyone has a balloon pump, but we did have a few little cheap hand held pumps and they worked just fine. I saw at Family Dollar that you can get a bag of 20 balloons for $1.35, so that's where I'll get replacement balloons. I uploaded a couple of pictures to try to show you the problem with the upper connector. I also uploaded what a balloon looked like right before it popped. FYI: I noticed that the pictures of this game on Amazon show two different colors of upper connector pieces than what we received. What we got was a red piece. The first pictures up near the top of the Amazon page show a sparkly looking silver connector piece, as well as sparkly silver sticks. If you zoom in it looks like the silver upper connector is held in place with 3 plastic sparkly screws, one on each leg near the top of the leg. Wow! What!? Why didn't I get that kind?!? Farther down the Amazon page there are other photos which show a white connector piece. Sooo...obviously Spin Master knows there is a problem with the connector piece and has tried to improve it. We just got this game shipped to us from Amazon last week and the connector is red...and it falls apart (our sticks are a light gray). This is disappointing. I sure wish we would have gotten the sparkly silver one. Well, I guess ours is silver now anyway after I covered the top with duct tape. :o( I know this is a long review, but I'll end this by saying that some reviewers seem to imply that because it falls apart it's junk (they must have all gotten a red connector). Are they throwing the game out? I don't know...but my goodness, use a little ingenuity and get out the duct tape. Sure, it should have been designed better in the first place (and it looks like they did improve it, which still annoys me that I didn't get the better one). But I think it's a shame to throw a game away when you really can easily fix the problem yourself. If you get a red connector and don't want the hassle of exchanging it, then see my photos and just fix it yourself.

I popped the balloon.
I could not figure how why my son had to have this. I bought it and we played it and now I know why he wanted it. It is a fun game. It even have suspense to it. You put it together, then you roll a die and have to poke this balloon without it popping and everyone that plays is poking at that the same balloon. It is a quick fun game and it makes you think should I use this stick or that stick. The balloon is sturdy and you get extra ones it stays in its own area. It is a great family game. I just love it and I am reccomending it to you because of the enjoyment it brought my family. This is one of those clever fun games that you gotta try. You and your family/friends will love it. This is excellent for game time.

Superdivertido.
