Baking with Mary Berry: Cakes, Cookies, Pies, and Pastries from the British Queen of Baking

I have the Kindle version of this book and find the formatting is great.I love this show, and I really like this book. The pictures are great, and the recipes are much easier than I thought they'd be. The pictures are full color and step by step. There's lots of tips too, like tips for making and working with pastry, and meringue. I have enjoyed learning how to make little shapes, like pinwheels.The recipes are in standard US measurements, and are by cup size, so they are very accessible. The ingredients and cookware needed, or things like baking papers- they are all easy to find locally for me, and I live in a small city with little food culture outside a lot of fast food restaurants.I love the recipe for White chocolate and strawberry muffins & lemon meringue pie. There's a lot of these recipes that I've not tried, but only for lack of time. About all of them look good, and are pretty easy for about anyone. Intermediate will certainly have no problems with ANY of these recipes.This is one of my favorite dessert baking cookbooks.

I got this book from the library, then bought it myself. A lot of great baking recipes, highly recommend. The photos are incredible. If you like the Great British Baking Show (early years) you will enjoy this a lot.

I’ve found this wonderful and easy to follow book knowing everything in it would be delicious, easy to follow and the bonus is all of the beautiful pictures of what they look like. She’s amazing in every way. I highly recommend her book!

This book was written for the American market, all units are in cups, etc so there's no need for conversion (it also features a quick blurb on the back about PBS instead of BBC). The beginning of the book starts off with a lot of helpful tips for basic baking procedures.That being said a lot of the recipes in this book are very simple and/or convenient - for example, many of the recipes call for self rising flour. So far I've only made three recipes: Pineapple Carrot Cake, Iced Lime Bars, and French Pancakes (the baked sort not crepes). The first two were very well received, however the last one called for an unusual amount of milk and didn't bake well. I look forward to trying more recipes from this book, but will probably look to another of Ms. Berry's books for a more challenging menu.

I got this cookbook out of curiosity and had been to England. So thought it would be fun to own some the better known sweet goods recipes that are served there. So many great recipes that it makes choosing the first one difficult!

Wow. If you're an American and a fan of Mary Berry, then this recipe book will make you feel like you have Mary Berry in your home, as your grandmother, teaching you the basics for her incredible recipes and techniques for perfection along the way. The measurements are American/ United States. You can really hear her voice and her personality though this book with well-written, clear recipes. This book makes my kitchen feel like a classy, delicious, British baking adventure. LOVE IT. The treats I've been making are TOP NOTCH, currently waiting for my pecan and chocolate chip cookies to finish. Thanks Mary!

My grandson an I started watching the Great British Baking show when he was a preschooler. He’s thirteen now and this a Christmas present because as far as he’s concerned Mary and Paul are the “superior” judges!

Love this recipe book, I started with recipe 1 and tried a few..no failures yet!
