Bluetooth made vinyl wireless without sacrificing sound quality – worth every penny
The main things I specifically wanted from a turntable was proper direct-drive (no more belt swaps), Bluetooth so I could ditch the cables to my active speakers and finally build and sound quality, the Audio-Technica LP120XBTUSB delivers all of this in abundance. Everything else – USB ripping, replaceable stylus, built-in phono – was a bonus. After three weeks of daily use it’s exactly what I hoped for. Setup was straightforward. Balancing the tone arm and setting the counterweight and anti-skate was simple enough following the included instructions and you’re spinning in ten minutes. The Bluetooth pairing did have one small catch that caught me out: my Bluetooth speakers or receiver had to be within about a metre for the initial connection. Once paired, though, I can wheel the turntable anywhere in the room, switch it on and it reconnects instantly. No lag, no drop-outs, and the audio quality is indistinguishable. Only minor niggle is the plastic dust cover feels a bit lightweight compared with some older AT models, but it does the job and the hinges are solid. Everything else – build, button feel, cueing accuracy – is proper pro-DJ grade at a home-listener price. If you want a no-fuss, professional & reliable turntable that can go wireless to modern speakers without losing that direct-drive punch or the sound quality, this is it. I’d buy it again tomorrow. Highly recommended.

A starter turntable that is easily upgraded to a mid-range unit when finances permit.
Fantastic turntable for the price. I love the retro look and the build quality is also very good. For me, this turntable ticks all of the boxes even though the operation is completely manual - not even auto return at the end of a record! It is an excellent turntable that plays records really well with the supplied cartridge. However, although the supplied cartridge is very good, there is still room for improvement. Hence l have bought an Audio Technica AT-VM740ML/Headshell for £279 (almost as much as the turntable itself). My goodness - it was worth it - not only is there an improvement in sound quality, but also the tracking capability with the MicroLine stylus is so much better. Though a lot more expensive, the longevity of the actual stylus (needle) is around 1000 hours as opposed to circa 300 hours with the supplied cartridge. With this combination, l think this turntable is not a million miles away from a ‘Mid-Range’ turntable that any ‘audiophile’ would be proud of. IMPORTANT:- please be aware the VM740ML Cartridge is a lot heavier than the standard cartridge supplied with the LP120, and it is imperative to purchase a separate stylus tracking weight scale in order to get an accurate tracking weight reading (available for around a tenner).

Quality turntable.
Not particularly challenging to assemble and balance the tonearm. Getting the 3-pin adapter on the power lead was more problematic. Levelling the turntable took a while but was worth doing right. My first direct drive and Bluetooth turntable, it connects automatically to Bluetooth speakers across the room. Sound reproduction is excellent. I did the right thing, avoiding the cheaper option of an all-in-one player. The extra quality from this turntable is worth the extra expense.

Fantastic upgrade
Audio-Technica LP120XBTUSB Direct-Drive Turntable (Bluetooth & USB) Black Revisited vinyl collection earlier this year by picking up a 'new' amp to go with ancient Technics SL-DD33 and some speakers I'd had stored away for years. Perfectly adequate set up. One of hinges snapped on Technics lid recently so when looking at cost of replacement parts (also due new stylus) I decided it was time to 'treat myself' to a shiny new turntable instead. Lots of research and reviews later I ended up going for the LP120XBTUSB Ordered Thursday evening, delivered Saturday morning. Quite simple to set up, check Audio Technica vid on You Tube if you need some guidance. Overall it is quite simply staggering the difference in sound quality this replacement turntable has made. If your research & budget has led you to consider this deck, go for it! It's superb. Have only found one little niggle so far. Personal preference would be to bypass the on board pre-amp and use the Phono stage on my Denon amp. There is a little 'LINE/PHONO' toggle switch on rear of turntable. Select 'Phono' mode and the USB & Bluetooth features are disabled. Will occasionally connect BT headphones so having to get round to this fiddly little switch would be a pain, so have set it up in 'Line' mode. Sounds great but will have to try 'Phono' at some point to see if there's much difference. UPDATE - Finally got round to trying this through Phono input on amp. Absolutely fine in LINE mode but overall sounds even better plugged/switched to PHONO. There is an ever so slight background hum when wired LINE which completely vanishes when running through phono amp input. Presumably this is because the grounding only relates to PHONO. UPDATE - One year on and still going strong. Weirdly had to rebalance tone arm recently, that just might have been my son fiddling about with it? Vinyl hoarding, old and new, is getting a bit out of control but all sounding superb... YET ANOTHER UPDATE - After around 14 months have noticed that the lovely slow needle drop has stopped being so smooth. Now drops with a clatter so back to manual placement. Apparently mechanism can be dismantled and a drop of a specific silicon grease added. Looks a bit fiddly but will give it a go at some point.

Quality Bluetooth Turntable from Audio-Technica
I've been collecting vinyl's for some time with nothing to play them on, until now. This is a very study unit, simple to setup and the sound quality pair with my Audio-Technica AT-SP3X Powered Bookshelf Speakers is brilliant. Easily connected to my Bluetooth speakers at the press of a single button. Can't wait to build my collections even more now and enjoy that quality vinyl sound.

Sadly no auto stop
Decided to replace my old analogue equipment with up to date Bluetooth. My old turntable was a 35 year old Dual and never let me down however for practicality I bought the audio technica Bluetooth turntable along with a Bose Bluetooth speaker. Setting up the turntable was a piece of cake and pairing with the speaker was a breeze. Sound was even better than I expected. I really liked this turntable……but…..have sent it back. Why?? Well after the third time of forgetting to lift the arm off the album I realised that I was going down the road of prematurely wearing out my stylus and possibly doing damage to my albums. Why oh why did they not make this with at least an auto stop. The turntable description doesn’t mention that it’s manual so a real disappointment. If my old 35 year old turntable can incorporate auto stop why can’t the modern day ones.

Plato de aluminio, power on/off y start/stop. Larga vida a vuestros vinilos!
