Your probably are wondering why I didn’t finish it even if I rated it 4 stars. Well, it’s actually my fault. So I really liked this book, was definitely feeling the connections between the main character and the people around her. Plot made sense and it was nicely written. It wasn’t anything spectacular but I’m sure if I had finished reading it, it would’ve had more interesting things happen. The reason I DNF it was because i thought this book was a reverse harem/polyamory relationship. <Keep in mind I didn’t read Hitched> I pretty much only read those types of books so once I realized this was starting to act more like a monogamous relationship ending I dipped. I would’ve loved to see Drake, Ash, and Ryder all together with Luna but that wasn’t happening. I originally thought that her half sister was going to get a ménage with that headmaster and her husband but since this is a YA, that’s not happening either.Anyway, good book if your into this sort of thing and I did quite like the story line.

Author Auto buy! Love her work but this is my favorite yet!
6 stars!!! I freaking loved this book. Some how G.K. Derosa tapped into my head and gave me EVERYTHING I wanted in a Upper YA Paranormal Romance. Luna was a strong willed, relatable character. She was curious of the supernatural community especially after the TV show Hitched aired. But little did she know she was going to become a part of that world shortly after the story begins. Brought to an Academy that teaches and trains paranormal beings Luna's world is about to be turned upside down.I loved the world building in this book. And even though this is technically a spin off series, the book can be read by itself. I ended up loving this book so much that that I now see Hitched as a fun prequel that adds to the world building in all the best ways. I think it might be my favorite of GK Derosa's work. The romance was amazing because even though there was an instant attraction from Luna (since the love intrest happens to be one of the previous Bachelors from the Hitched series) it was a really good slow burn. I ship this couple sooo hard. (Not a RH in case you are wondering.)Long story short: I loved the worldbuilding, character development, friendships and romance in this book. G.K. Derosa ran with the popular Academy theme I am addicted to and made it her own!!(Again, I know I mentioned the Hitched series quite a bit, but it doesnt need to be read before this book...it just makes it that much more enjoyable 😍😍😍)

I’m undecided
This was a fun story and I liked the characters and world building. I couldn’t stop picturing Zodiac Academy while reading this though. There are so many parallels. I’m ok with that…I don’t even know which book was first so I’m making no accusations here. I couldn’t finish all of ZA because of the language, immaturity and the endless unhappy endings. Id love to see a fresh take on that story with those issues resolved. So then here comes Darkblood Academy…It’s as if someone read ZA and then decided to write a pretty good fanfiction.I enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next. I do feel like a lot of things are incredibly shallow, but that could also be because I keep comparing this to Zodiac Academy and it really is making me miss just how much detail and emotion went into that one! The teacher/student relationship in this book is not believable at all. They’re just lusting after one another. There has been absolutely nothing that has brought them together in any way emotionally. It’s all about appearances and lust. I’m definitely not into that. I’ve enjoyed everything else for the most part though. I really just want to keep comparing this and ZA so I’m just going to shut up and move on 😂 I mainly just enjoyed that this was an interesting, quick read….even if I needed more.

Awesome!
Such an amazing story line, and just a little steamy. Definitely a beginners romance book as far as spicy goes, but the forbidden romance is perfect.

Too Fast?
So it was a great story. I liked all the elements, but it moved fast. Almost like it was the first draft after an outline. Going to keep reading them, but I felt there could have been more.

Lovely
I want to know if the FMC will end up with more than Riley or not. So far, everything is good. I liked the plot about the mark and I think that's how her magic will unravel.

Just awesome
I could not put it down. It is a very interesting concept, very different from oder writers take on magic learning academy.

Paranormale YA-Story
Nachdem ihre Pflegemutter verstorben ist, wächst Luna Hallow die nächsten Jahre in einem kalten Waisenhaus auf. An ihrem 18.
