Tretoin Cream (20 gram tube in orange/blue/white box) is a form of vitamin A that helps skin renew itselfit is used to treat acne as well as reduce the appearance of wrinkles, lines, skin discoloration & increase skin smoothness. Tretoin is the treatment of choice for comedonal acne, whiteheads, blackheads. It increases skin cell turnover, promoting the extrusion of plugged material in the follicle. While Tretoin is extremely effective, results for acne improvement may take as much as 8-12 weeks of use before noticeable improvement. Using more product or applying more often than directed will not make it work any faster, and may increase side effects. Results for reduction of wrinkles can take up 6 months. The effect of increased skin cell turnover can be irritation and flaking. For this reason, many people stop using Tretoin cream after a couple of days to weeks, and then think that it didn't work. Dont stop using the product because of these common side effects. Improvement will come! Wash your hands before/after applying Tretoin. Then, wash your skin with a mild soap and dry gently.
