Awesome radio for the job site
I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He absolutely loves it. He had a much older version that was filthy, had a broken antenna, and did not have a backlit display like this one. This one sounds pretty good to me, not like the best quality, but on a job site he doesn't seem to even notice. there is a battery charger for DeWalt tools, and an auxiliary plug to connect his smart phone and to listen to the music he has stored on his phone. There is also a USB connection that he could also use to charge his cell phone. The unit also comes with a quarter sized battery already installed so that his preset radio stations will be saved as well as the time. This unit is compact and really durable. Can't find anything wrong with it

the reception is great! i live in kansas city
i have been wanting to get a new joist radio for some time now. i couldn't decide on this one or the smaller one. i ended up going on the DCRO15 the bigger one because it charges your batteries as well! its plenty loud for the jobsite. the reception is great! i live in kansas city. it gets reception everywhere i go!. aux cord connection works great! also has a usb port to charge phone but only works when connected to outlet not with battery. i use the 5ah batteries with this radio and i can get about 7 hours of play a day for the whole 5 day week and still have one bar of battery left!! thats great! i have never ran the radio till my battery dies i always charge after battery is at one bar but i don't see why i would get another 10-15 hours more if i did! great radio i highly recommend1

Studies Show That More Radios Are Injured On The Job Site Than At Home.... Nah! I made that up!!!
I have had this thing for a few months now and I have had some time to take it for a spin so here's what I got... The battery charger works in two different ways. You can use the radio to charge the battery or you can use the battery to power the radio. I use the 20V batteries and so far I have no negative issues to report. The radio has a light duty outlet on the side of it that appears to be good for pulling small loads like a phone charger or a string of cfl's or some junk like that. The radio has a 14 AWG cord that is roughly 6' long coming off the side of it, so people should realize that pulling large loads or using long extension cords off the side of this radio's outlet is not a smart idea. If its not detrimental to the radio it could be to the equipment being operated from it. I have no negative issues to report with the outlet. The volume.... I have not noticed a difference in volume between outlet and battery power, however this is just my opinion. I have noticed the tuner is louder than when I have the MP3 player going but even then the MP3 player is loud enough that I don't have the radio cranked up all the way and that from distances between 20' to 30'. I have also noticed that MP3's that I have acquired through questionable means plays louder than the MP3's that I have recorded legally, but this has nothing to do with the radio and everything to do with the programs I used to acquire said MP3's. So... as for the volume, I have no problems there either. The little access door on the side houses the auxiliary jack for the MP3 player and a usb port to charge your MP3 player or phone or whatever the case my be. I have seen several complaints about the little access door being too light duty and they might be right, but it is a radio after all, it is delicate electronics. If you put the radio in a stupid place where something bad might happen to it, then something bad will most likely happen. That would be your fault not the radio's. I have also seen a couple complaints about the antenna being to flimsy and I'm not sure if they were being specific or literal or what but... Its a freak'n antenna!!! Delicate electronics!!! I have had a lot of luck with this purchase however your experience may vary, I would recommend this to a friend.

Sounds Good
I bought this after my question about playing a usb mem stick was answered (on another site) "yes it does". That is the main way I will use it, because I live in a bad area for fm radio. Cars get stations here but I have not found any other radios that do.Well that answer was wrong it ONLY charge thru the usb and then only when plugged in to 110v. I have 1 1/2 acres and needed a radio that would at the least have a rechargeable battery. Its a huge plus that the Dewalt batteries (12 & 20v) not only work in it but it can charge them when plugged in. That is what sent me on a quest to MAKE it fit my needs. I got the Bluetooth adapter and was gonna use my old smart phone to play and send to it, that didn't work cause it got the cel network confused the newer phone so I can't even turn them both on at the same time. Then tried 2 mp3 players, one never played the other died after 2 minutes which all but 10 seconds was spent in menu getting it to play. then used newer cel phone direct with 3.5mm audio cable to aux that worked but then can't use phone as a phone. The Latest is a low power FM Transmitter that can transmit to any fm frequency and accepts input via a 3.5mm audio plug from anything that outputs audio signal that can be adapted to 3.5mm audio plug. This Dewalt radio then can be tuned to the same frequency. I can now use this radio anywhere on my property using the radio tuner and sounds good and no more long ext chords.would have given it a 5 star but for the USB issue.update:First off, using the USB directly would have made this so simple!I have been using this radio to receive the signal from a tablet loaded with my mps's plugged into the low power fm transmitter. works great with any FM radio, sounds good.I tried iheart and other online music sources but they were consistently inconsistent on usability, rampant crashes and freezes.

decent radio to be sure
Works great. Not sure what the runtime is via battery power but it's a good unit. Pricey but for some reason all the jobsite radios are, regardless I've been looking for a dewalt and this was the best price I could find (saved $25 on their fathers day promotion)
