Must for Environment UPSC
The reason you should buy this book:•Environment has a significant weightage in prelims exams (not less than 15questions)•This book provide detailed picture of what is required in UPSC as far as the environment is concerned. Other books like shankar dont provide an analysis of topic, and almost 50% of the book is irrelevant.• This book connects the dots comprehensively as mcqs are provided after every chapter and the way current events are linked to static topic is exceptional.• The book provides an analytical approach and it is not merely a collection of facts as other so caller popular upsc books are, analysis will help you in all 3 stages of UPSC.• All in all it is a complete book for preparation for environment and even if you dont get questions directly from this book in UPSC, the book will indirectly help in solving the questions in prelims.Hope this helps.

Bible for civil services in environmental sciences
Standing by her words, "There's no refernce book for environment for civil services until and unless i write one. " Amazingly written already like an established author including all the current affairs and not leaving out a single term of environmental sciences. Also the best part which is unique in this book is all the FAQs covered in the form of students ask why?. This book is ultimately the bible for environmental sciences in civil services.

Perfect balance of concepts and current affairs.
Best book for environment and ecology. It’s a treat to read because of the exceptionally curated and logically arranged information. You are not bombarded with facts. Perfect balance between concepts and current affairs. It definitely shows the effort author has put in and is not just copy and paste.Read 2 to 3 times to make notes for pre and mains.Simple and effective.

A nice book where concepts are explained in a simple way which you can comprehend easily. You can refer this and complement with Shankar's environment book for other topics which may not be covered here. There are questions at the end of each chapter that u can quickly solve. Would happily suggest to buy this.

Disappointing. Chock full of errors and inadequate explanations
When I saw the index of the book, I was thrilled to see a logical arrangement of topics and an intuitive flow, which was missing in Shankar's book. However as I read the book, many factual errors kept cropping up (such as the entire section on Wildlife protection act filled with egregious errors) which make me feel like this book was compiled in a hurry without proofreading . Further, many concepts are not explained well and simply glossed over( such as the section on international bodies.) Useful as a beginner's book, but needs way more care to be a one-stop solution.Edit: I finally finished reading the whole book and I must admit that the number of errors in the later chapters are far lesser. Most of the errors are only in the chapters on biodiversity conservation, so students may want to refer to the official government documents for the conservation and other related info. So I am updating my earlier review of 2 stars to 3 stars. My earlier complaint of inadequate explanations however still stands to a substantial extent. Moreover the exclusive downloadable content is barely 10 pages long , which could have easily been included in the book itself instead of making students have to give their phone numbers and email and go through a ridiculous process involving multiple OTPs. That is scummy behaviour from TMH , the publisher.

Good
It is good book but you need to be updated most of the time and only relevant information given.
