The media could not be loaded. I am so happy to have stumbled upon this thumb rest!It's inexpensive. Soft silicone. Comfortable. Easy to adjust to your hands' form.Does not scratch the flute. Mine is solid silver (whole flute).Washes easily.Just take care not to place in the way of keys or other levers as that will cause incomplete closures (leaks). I like that they do stay on. I have not experienced them falling while playing, nor on my flute stand. It needs to be removed to put the flute back into its case. Flute cases without extra storage compartments outside the hard case will not have space to keep these thumb rests inside without damaging your flute. My flute case has a zippered cover around the hard case. And they do fit between the hard case and the fabric case without issue.They do get lint on them rather easily. I would check there is no lint on the inside of the gadget that touches your flute. The lint was from testing it in my hard case (so the blue fuzzy lining sheds). My case is decades old style.I do recommend these to my students. It relieves pain at the joints, and improves hand position. Not everyone will need these. And some may only want to use the upper hand thumb rest. It's great that you can install as you like.

The price was affordable for these. I only really needed to correct thumb position on a student Yamaha flute, which it does well, and it does not scratch the metal like the plastic Bo Pep does. However, they are quite thick and hard, and not contoured to the thumb. They probably need to be hard to stay in place, which it does. Would have liked two of the same color to correct both left resting finger and right thumb position, instead of five different colors. I may search to see if there is a softer, contoured option that is more comfortable, but in the meantime this works for its purpose.

I originally bought this item in black. I decided to purchase more with the various colors. I tried most of them out today. It takes a lot of pressure off my thumb when I play my flute. It also helps me get a better sound. I did not have any problems with it falling off. I love these. It has made me enjoy playing again. Thanks.

Personally, they were to thick for my needs. Probably won't use them.

I just bought a brand new Yamaha Y22 flute and ordered these thumb rests. After using the thumb rest for three days, I took it off to put on a different color. The first rest (pink) left a tea-colored outline stain on my brand new flute. I then tried the black thumb rest which left an even bigger stain. I tried a brand name silver polish which did not take off the stain. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I will never buy these thumb rests again!

I've played flute for over 25 years and have always struggled with pain in my left hand. I've been through PT, worn many different braces and tried so many different gadgets on my flute to help. These silicone supports are much better than I was anticipating. Placement must be just so to avoid blocking any keys, but once in place, it doesn't slide and provides nice cushioning and stability for the left hand. Can also be used for the right hand thumb if necessary, or as a teach aid for young students! I highly recommend these as you also don't have to worry about scratching or leftover residue when using these!

I'm a woodwind player and middle school band teacher. I use this on my flute and purchase them for all of my flute students. The thumb rests help myself and my flute players maintain healthy hand positions and consistent right thumb placement.The only downside is that if they're placed wrong they can get stuck under the key mechanisms. It's a super easy fix, but also an easy one to miss.
