Works great to clear my tank but not really doing a great job with odor elimination even though it has activates charcoal in the package. But to be fair, my planted tank has a very tight fitting lid, which doesn't allow for much air transfer.5/28/2016Now that I've had the filrer for a bit more time, it is still working great and I have replaced the chem/filter pad twice. I also have a Hydor canister filter and cylce cleannings every 6 weeks between filters and water changes. You can rinse these pads with ordinary tap water as they are not the main source of biological filteration for the U4 and they get much cleaner. Then you can switch one out for a new new and move the rinsed one to the other side.

Amazing
Clears up my turtle tank within 1-2 hours. Instead of replacing 1 at a time, once a month, I will be doing both every two weeks. Fluval is the best, hands down.
