Steel SealSSAMZ Head Gasket Repair

This has worked great so far and is still holding after 1 week.I didn't just pour it in and go, as I didn't know what coolant was already in my vehicle.I did a diesel sniff test first to confirm exhaust gasses in my coolant.I then did a full engine flush.After the flush I added the Steel Seal to my coolant system with water and ran at temp for 30 mins with the heater and blowers on max.I let the vehicle cool for 4 hours and flushed again.After this second flush I filled my vehicle with the correct spec coolant and deionised where.I ran a new sniff test and confirmed that the Steel Seal had worked.

This was a waste of money, did not work and i followed the instructions to the letter, to make sure, i checked the steal seal website and read the actual instructions, which advise taken out the spark plugs one by one to identify the culprit. Flushed the coolant 3 times before adding sealant and ran for 30 mins when temp reached 90 degrees. Left it overnight for a whole 24 hours and next day ran again for 30 mins but right at end started bubbling and overheating. Since then flushed it several times, which was a pain to get rid of all this sealant and even now with distilled water added it is still overheating. Gist is; if you have a head gasket issue, then there is no choice but to strip the engine and clean it and replace the gasket. This will now be my next plan, just wished i get my money back but this seller simply states follow the claim procedure on the bottle, and that is steal seal requires a mechanical reciept advising head gasket failure or a scrap certificate. This mean forking out more money to a mechanic just to get your money back for this cr*p bottle of snake oil and that means the gaurantee is a lie.

I was a bit skeptical about this, but having had an issue with my large RV with a 5.9 diesel I thought I would give a go. Followed instructions to the tee. Didn't rush took my time. Needed 3bottles due to size of engine.However it's worked spot on! Life saver and a massive bill to get head removed etc. I don't think it will save you if you if you have really cooked your engine,but if you have just gone over slightly and just caused a small amount of head gasket damage it certainly have saved me..

It didn't work for me as my oil cooler was ruptured, but I was told by a good mechanic that it is the best available, as long as you read the instructions. Might save you a few quid.

I believe this worked because we followed the instructions to the letter - emptying the coolant system of every last drop of water contaminated with antifreeze.We used this in a 1.4 MG ZR. It was losing water (about a pint every 6 weeks), but not into the oilways nor any visible leaks, nor was it letting by to the point its pressurising the coolant system. Suspected headgasket beginning to seperate (common on the K series) and was told to try this before tearing down the engine. Hasn't lost a drop for months now.How good this would work on a badly blown/cracked engine is anyones guess, and we only gave it a go as the motor is 20 years old and it wouldn't have been the end of the world if it destroyed the motor. But in this instance it saved me either a lot of time repairing, or money getting somone else to do it, and my son didn't lose the car for a few weeks whilst being repaired.In summary, a good product that worked for me. Would I use in a modern car with complex cooloing systems/turbos etc that are worth lots of money, probably not. But in something on its last legs, to get you home or out of a fix, then I would use this over other similar products.

Poured into to car and didn’t notice anything different

I used it on my 2009 Honda Civic Ivtec 1.8 that was losing coolant about 1 litre a day I was losing couldn't find where the leak was as nothing obvious, so thought might be head gasket or engine. Bought one bottle of this and followed the easy to follow instructions, I have used the car daily since putting it in and so far no water loss, so fingers crossed think it saved an expensive trip to the garage. If you find it hard to empty your radiator i used a syringe that you get with medicine to empty mine just enough to allow this to be added. Then when engine was cold again next day, I topped it, and not needed to top up since.

No effect at all! Scam/Fraud sell. Did bought second time, just to double check, but no effect. The leak is very small, need top up cooling once a moth, a 100ml or bit more. But this sealant do no effect on stopping leak. At the moment, bought different brand, will see if it works. Did it two days agoand i think there is some results already.
