Veered Off and Missed the Road Completely
I'm not quite sure what happened in the third book. It's like Cross decided to stop writing erotica and start a poor rendition of Ian Fleming - a really poor rendition. The story turned into a really sad version of a secret society book with very little of what it started off to be. The sex scenes seemed forced. Like the author suddenly remembered that she was writing erotica and threw in one or two scenes for good measure. I mean seriously, what the heck happened? The first half was long, boring, and drawn out. I nearly put the book down and never looked back, but I trudged through. The only reason I gave her two stars instead of 1 is because the ending was somewhat captivating and she at least wrapped up all the loose ends... loosely. She can write erotica well and her descriptive writing when doing so makes it work. However, when it comes to everything else, she can't write it worth a darn. Hopefully she sticks to erotica and leaves the adventure and spy stories to the experts.

And I would probably still recommend the series
So frustrated! I really wanted to give this book more than 3 stars....and it was borderline 4. The ending was WAY to fairytale for me. Basically, from the end of book one through middle of book 3 I was hooked. In the end, I just didn't buy it. I tried....sorry Maya Cross, I really did. And I would probably still recommend the series. Maybe my hopes were too high? I became totally invested in Sebastian, only for him to turn out to be, what, a house husband? A jobless boyfriend? Very anticlimactic. And Sophia? Just when I was believing she went from a 9-5er to a woman determined by her circumstances, you want me to believe that she is now some skilled assasin? I might have bought the whole ending if she had some sort of realistic breakdown after having to KILL someone to save her super spy boyfriend, but all the sudden she is just like, yeah, I got this? And while I did enjoy the twist with Liv, we are suppsed to buy the Trey? The spoiled hier apparent is the mastermind behind all this? I don't know what to say. There were so many times I felt like the story could have gone in a better, more interesting direction, it just didn't. I sill have you marked on my goodreads to check out other stuff. I will try again.....

Sexy + A Plot to Kill = Awesome
First, I need to give kudos to Maya Cross because she certainly has a way of writing sex scenes so steamy, they will get you riled up. While the other books have had plenty of hot sex in them, this book is when it becomes full of passion.Book 3 was a bit different from the others. Sebastian has hurt Sophia but he still vows to keep her out of danger. But, since she is possibly in danger, he opens up to her more about who he is and what he does for a living. We see a much stronger Sophia. Not one who is in angst wondering if Sebastian will turn out to be like all the other asses she's dated. We also see her fight for her job.I enjoyed the mystery and action incorporated in the book. It had a different flow from the first two books since it was more so about the drama they were dealing with. But it was still a good read. And a good closure to the series.

Pleased with the ending.
I peaked at a review and someone commented on the ending not being what they expected so I was worried how this would end. Every clue, every action made me worry and think how this could end.I love Sophia and Sebastian. I have said all along I love the strong female character that is Sophia. Even in the darkest hour when you think hope is lost, Sophia stays strong.Sebastian, the mysterious man has really won me over. I never would have imagined he could have ended up this way with Sophia, especially after the final mystery is resolved. I wasn't sure how that was going to play out. I was pleased by the actions at the end. Although I could see a few other endings possible, this one was a favorite.I am ready to go see what else Maya Cross has written. I thoroughly enjoyed this series. The writing got better with each book but her timing and pacing in the story is easy to read and understand the story flow. I literally read the three books in about two days. I could not put it down, seriously.I enjoyed these books, this one could be my favorite in the series. Please try something new and try a new author. Then leave a review.

Disappointed with series as a whole
As this book was part of a trilogy, and the last book, I have to rate this book as the series in whole. This book was so different from the other two. What developed in this book should have started in book two. Gone was any fun loving courting, and now we are launched into 100% Alpha land. Book one gave us a glimpse of his BDSM dominance, I missed that same level of dominance through the series. I liked his dominant side and didn't care for his softening at the end. The "who done it" I thought was obvious, minus the rollercoaster journey we were taken on. I didn't care for his decision at the end, it didn't fit who I thought this character should really be.

Action packed end to a fab trilogy
Unlocked by Maya Cross4 stars!!"This isn't me giving up my life, Sophia," he said. "This is me beginning it."I had been eagerly awaiting the conclusion to Sebastian and Sophia's story and I was not disappointed! Unlocked is the last in The Alpha Group trilogy and the story picks up straight after the dramatic cliff hanger that we were left with at the end of Lockout. Sophia had been kidnapped and she is locked away, she doesn't know if anybody realises she is missing especially as her and Sebastian had split up just before! She tries to make the best out of a bad situation but this time in confinement gives her time to think.During this story, we find out a lot about The Alpha Group and Sebastian's role within it, you would think that a group as powerful as this would be able to contain any problem that was thrown at it, but alas, no. This is made extremely difficult when it soon becomes apparent that there is a mole in the group and now nobody knows who to trust. The whole group is thrown into disarray and Sebastian and Sophia feel totally alone. Although, this may prove to be a good thing, eventually!"We're in this together, Sebastian. Whatever happens." He stared at me for a full 10 seconds, somehow managing to look touched yet incredibly anxious. Eventually, though, he broke into a sad little smile. "Together it is, then," he said softly, reaching out to squeeze my hand. And somehow it felt like an incredibly tender moment, instead of an insane suicide pact. Yep, definitely desensitised.Whilst trying to keep themselves alive Sebastian and Sophia really have time to re-evaluate their relationship, finally we see why Sebastian has been holding back and his reasoning behind his decisions. Will he finally realise that the only person that he can truly trust is sitting right before him and is willing to do whatever it takes to keep them together?"Do you remember what you said to me over dinner, the first time we went out?" I asked eventually. "Nothing worth having comes risk free.' Well. That's how I feel now." I got to my feet and moved over to him, taking his hands in mine. "I'm a big girl. I can make my own decisions. I understand the risks, and I'm telling you I'm okay with them. I love you, Sebastian, and if that's the price for being with you, then it's one I'm willing to pay. The question is, are you?"As always, Maya writes some steaming hot scenes in this book. Sebastian is still Alpha by name and alpha by nature, however, there are not as many scenes in this book as we are used to. This is mainly because this final book centres around the plot of the Alpha Group and they literally do not have time for any of those shenanigans !! As I said before, they are mainly trying to keep themselves alive!....allowing him to sheathe himself in me all the way to the root. Finally he pulled away, only to bury his head against my neck. "Say it again," he whispered, teasing me with a slow rocking motion. "I love you," I breathed. "And I love you," he replied. And then he was moving in me again, his mouth tracing fire across my collarbone...We see a whole new side to Sebastian in this book, he is loving, he is extremely protective and he opens up a lot. If you didn't love the man of mystery before, you sure will now! Sophia, really develops too in this book. She has her back bone, she uses it, she steps up to plate and is literally Sebastian's right hand woman throughout this book. You can see their relationship getting stronger and stronger and you cannot help but root for them throughout the book. They also have an amazing connection to, not just physically but mentally too. It is this connection that amazingly gets them through some really tricky situations but will they both be standing at the end?I have loved this series, a mixture of steamy romance, with mystery, danger, twists and turns, ups and down's and a fabulous plot that will keep you guessing and page turning till the end. This book also has an epilogue, and I am really love them so you will not be disappointed with the end. I cannot wait to see what Maya has in store for us next![...]

Enjoyable trilogy that I applaud Maya for because it didn't get strung out.
So this brings us to the conclusion of The Alpha Trilogy and I have really enjoyed these books. I feel a little bit sad that for me book 3 didn't deliver quite as great as book 1 and 2, don't get me wrong it's still a good book but book 3 for me was a tinsy winsy bit mediocre and nothing really fantastically stood out in it.For one I couldn't understand that for a man who worked for the 'elite' Alpha Group, he sure did say - 'I don't know' and 'We're working on it' a heck of a lot......... so on the one hand we have an extremely rich, clever, killing machine who doesn't know a heck of a lot too quick, hmmmmm his characterisation seemed to waiver on that score. But saying that I still have a soft spot for him and he's still a definite book boyfriend - big time!Sophia, an ordinary girl who let's face is just plain downright nosey and can't seem to stay out of the thick of things, I still thoroughly like her, there is something about her 'wade in and sod the consequences' attitude that is very likable.I loved the dual perspectives this time, it's always better to get into both heads and I loved the ending, it seemed completely fitting. Will I read this trilogy again at some point? Oh that is Affirmative with a capital A :0)

Brilliant ending to the series!
This last instalment to the series was brilliant!! I loved reading the continuing story of Sophia and Sebastian. There were many parts that were very intense and a few twists to it aswell that i didn't see coming! I have to say Maya can write some very HOT scenes too!!lol I enjoyed that it was written from both Sophia's and Sebastian's POV, it was good to get inside Sebastian's head and see what his thoughts were. The epilogue was good, although i'd definitely love to read more about them and how their life ends up in the future! Great series and didn't take me long to read at all!! Definitely recommend this series.

I enjoyed reading the first two books in the trilogy however the third book half way through became ridiculous and total nonsense.I am sorry Maya but you lost your way and spoiled the series for me.

Brilliant!!
A fantastic triology, that kept me gripped from start to finish. The characters were great, strong, determined with the likeable factor and i loved the natural development of the relationship between them, the author kept them true to themselves throughout and this made the story feel real. Would love to see another book a year or so on?!!. There was witty remarks, angst and action what more could you want!! Great work Maya.
