The rod spits large sparks and I can get a fire going in 2-3 strikes. It works best when you scrape the black coating off first to make the sparks really fly! Totally recommend!

It easily ignites tinder, producing good sparks. It's important to find the right tinder to start a fire, regardless of which ferrocerium rod you're using.
