John Candy and Eugene Levy charge into the world of private security in the outrageous action-comedy Armed and Dangerous. Unfortunately, they're usually charging in the wrong direction! When Candy, a bungling cop, and Levy, an inept lawyer, lose their jobs, they wind up together at the Guard Dog Security Company. After thorough training in the use of firearms (for two hours), they're raring to go. But even as security guards they can't cut it, and rip-offs take place right under their noses. Eventually they figure out the robberies aren't coincidental, and that their company is in cahoots with the security union's mobster president (Robert Loggia, Jagged Edge). Eager to snag the crooks, Candy and Levy set out as spies and in a wild car chase turn a million-dollar heist into an armored carnival! When the dust finally settles, Candy and Levy save the day as the hilarious rent-a-cop duo that’s never funnier than when they're Armed and Dangerous.

Watch this all the time!
Just so you know where I am coming from......I am a MOVIE NUT!!!!!! I would rather watch a movie than do about anything else. It is to the point where it is hopeless!!!!! I have to clean out a shed in my back yard, and all I am thinking about is..." why isn't there something in here that I can watch a movie on! Surely it would make this task a lot more enjoyable!" Thanks to phones and Ipads and such, I can watch a movie in my car! Now, folks......that is pure, unadulterated luxury as far as I'm concerned!!!! There is nothing better! This movie is one of those that I watched in the theater many years ago (well, not THAT many)...and I loved it. I bought this movie from Amazon a few years ago and watch it all the time. It is hilarious. It is about two guys-one who used to be a lawyer and one who used to be a police officer. The lawyer was sort of forced to stop practicing law because he was scared to death when he had to represent a very scary murderer (so he made a deal with the judge during the trial) and the police officer started to arrest two fellow police officers who were stealing TVs (he was fired). They are out of work after that and meet at Guard Dog---a company that provides security officers for various businesses. They then go through the training and get put together as partners. When they were on their first assignment, they see a crime going down and mayhem ensues. If you love John Candy movies like Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors, and Summer Rental, you will like this movie. When I want to watch a movie to just escape for about an hour and a half, I watch this movie. it isn't The Godfather or Casino---a movie that makes you think or end up wondering what this world is coming to--, but it is enjoyable and one of John Candy's best!

Oh! I got my Christmas goose early !!!
I have meant to add this John Candy classic to my collection for years but frequently get sidetracked by new releases when I log on to Amazon. I consider this one of John's better efforts along with Uncle Buck. While trying to evade capture by the police John and Levy hide out in an adult sex store. When they realize the cop's are waiting outside they switch clothes with a couple of the store's more, shall I say, sexually explicitly dressed patrons and escape the police because they are not recognized in their disguises. I bought the movie just for this scene because it really made me laugh the first time I saw it. It is hilarious ! I was a fan of SCTV years ago and the talented alumni like John Candy, Harold Ramis and Rick Moranis that it produced. If you like John Candy add this film to your collection.

John Candy/Eugene Levy 80’s comedy
Funny John Candy and Eugene Levy 80’s film! “Debo” from “Friday” is in it and a small part from the same guy that played Apollo Creed’s trainer that eventually ends up working with Rocky from the “Rocky” movies. That fat nasty floating guy from “Dune” plays Meg Ryan’s father. “Strictlin” from the “Back to the future” movies has a small part. “Frank” from “Scarface” is also in this movie. Who remembers “Charlie Butts” from “Escape From Alcatraz?” He’s in this comedy too. Dvd arrived in perfect shape, early!

John Candy and Eugene Levy is brilliant in this movie!
This movie is a classic 80's comedy if you ask me, with a nice bit of action in it too and a good story. John Candy and Eugene Levy are great together as the odd couple partnered as security guards with John Candy as an ex-policeman who loses his job and Levy as a lawyer who is not doing too good in court, and also has to seek another job. They both end up working for a security company where many of the people who they take the introduction course with arent the best recruits to be security guards. But that is also what makes this movie so funny, not just the main characters but the people around them! If you like John Candy and Eugene Levy this is a must see, and if not just watch it to have a great laugh.
