I highly recommend this book
Dr. Gundry has produced an invaluable resource with this volume. A well-known Greek scholar, Dr. Gundry does his own translation which, though not always elegant English, is much closer to the meaning of the original Greek than many of today's translations. His commentaries are designed for the average reader, not for the elite Biblical scholars. They contain a wealth of information and insight. If you are serious about studying the New Testament, I highly recommend this book.

A commentary with Dr. Gundry's literal translation of the New Testament
The best resource that I have ever used to explain the truth as it is written in the New Testament. Dr. Gundry has revealed so much more meaning with excitement and humor. The text comes alive. I look forward to my devotional time every single day. This is one resource that every Christian should invest their time. It is easy to read it cover to cover in one year.

It took a lifetime!
Robert Grundry's Commentary on the New Testament is surely the work of a lifetime of careful study and also prayerful attention to the Scriptures. It is invaluable as a resource for reflections and homilies on the New Testament readings of the liturgy. I am profoundly grateful to him for this gift from his faith and perseverance.

best single volume commentary
At last a commentary and translation written to give a deeper understanding of the thinking and understanding of New Testament writers without being so technical that your eyes roll back and you are fast asleep. The truth of the Gospel comes pouring out. I would recommend both the hard back and kindle versions.

A Lively Translation and Helpful Commentary
I'm only just getting into this 2 volume work (paperback edition) but I'm already enjoying insights from Gundry's own translation of the New Testament and his comments expanding on the meaning of each text. His disclaimer up front is worth reading before first use (he has a preference for accuracy over readability so some of the language is clunky). I'm using it for personal reflection as well as preparing material for children's ministry (7-11 year olds). I look forward to using this more.

Excellent commentary!
This commentary is one of the best one-volume commentaries. It will be helpful for everybody who want to deepen understanding of the Scripture. The author avoids technical questions and concentrates on the text itself. Recommend it very much!

Purposeful
There are very few Bible scholars out there the caliber of R. H. Gundry. He is honest, and still (contrary to what many think) decidedly evangelical (for lack of a better word), and yet is not averse to challenging the pet presuppositions of many of his 'more conservative' (again used loosely) sisters and brothers. This one volume commentary is a treasure box. Gundry does not simply re-iterate the text like others in similar contexts do. He draws out the meaning, He requires his readers to think. Indeed, he encourages them (strongly) to have the Bible open as they read through his comments. At my alma mater (?) we used to joke that it was the one Bible School that people could attend without ever having to open the Bible once. Gundry's study on the other hand necessitates the opening of one's Bible. He by no means believes himself to having the last word. I would recommend this study to all who have an interest in the Bible (from beginners to experts). There is something worthwhile for each one in this volume.

It is very comprehensive yet reader-friendly. However, while ...
It is very comprehensive yet reader-friendly. However, while I recognize that a single book commentary for the whole NT will have certain limitations, perhaps later editions might consider a Greek- English vocabulary, if only for key words and phrases.
