I have two of these racks, and I love them both! I wish they weren't so expensive, but they're very high quality. I've used cheaper rack units like this before and sometimes they come warped or bent. Not the case here. I have one of them mounted under a shelf in my TV stand. I have a Furman power conditioner in the top rack space, which powers everything and provides power conditioning and surge protection. Under that I have a 2U shelf, which has my cable box and a SNES classic. Below that I have a 1U shelf which has my Apple TV+, and an Apple Airport Express. Using this gives everything a really clean look. The other rack I have mounted under my desk, which is just a large plank of wood. My network switch is mounted in the top space, a cable management unit is installed under that, and then the last two-Us are occupied by a shelf which holds my router, modem, a couple of POE injectors, and a USB fan that sits on top of my modem.

I had limited space in the utility closet in my old house. Going vertical rather than horizontal allowed me to use traditional network cabinet gear without taking up so much horizontal space. Once the 4 wood screws are installed on the sides, there's little to no flex. - Mounts on standard 16-inch on center wall studs. The bolts have plastic washers so that they don't scratch the rack paint. - I attached the NavePoint shelf to the studs above the rack to hold my modem and router Cons: - Because all of the ethernet and RG6 cables hang down below the rack, I had to be careful about strain relief, especially where I coiled up extra cable below the rack. The Cable Matters® Cat6 RJ45 Keystone Jacks don't have a zip tie strain relief slot, so the weight of the cables hangs on the punched down wires. Next time, I'll use Monoprice Cat6 Punch Down Keystone Jacks (105384) because they have the zip tie slots.

I needed to add a quality CD player to my home studio for playback of my CD collection. Real estate is very limited on my desktop for space so I determined I needed to do an under countertop mount. I looked at a number of 2U rack under mounts, but none of them could support the 9 pound weight of the new CD player. I came across the StarTech 2U mount and it had plenty of strength. Super easy to mount. Lifesaver solution! Highly recommended.

I used this to install a 1U switch and really heavy 1U battery backup in my coat closet which is where all of my house cable / voice / ethernet is terminated in a metal wiring box. The wiring box is too small to install any actual hardware so this is wall mounted below the box, the wiring is then pulled out of the wiring box and connected to my rack mounted network hardware. Works perfect, is very secure when mounted to studs even with my super heavy battery backup installed. Only real negative is that it uses annoying snap-in threaded rack nuts. I have experience with SKB rack cases which use snap nuts, but those snap around the entire rack and never fall out (in fact they're a PITA to remove). These just use two tiny flanges that snap into the rack holes. They kept popping out when I tried to pop in an adjacent nut. It was super annoying. Thus I ended up wall mounting it in the same vertical orientation as in the product photo so the rack gear's weight was pushed down the the snap-in nuts. I wish they used the SKB style snap nuts, or simply threaded the rack rails directly. I'm not sure how robust the nuts would be in a horizontal orientation.

We use these in spots where it doesn't make sense to put a small enclosed network cabinet. This was a job trailer that is used as an office next to a machine shop that has been there for years. The dimwit network bro that went out there and installed it before had it installed on garage hooks on the opposite side of the wall over a guys desk. Bonus, if you are looking for those mounts we used on the UPS, you can find them here as well, search for "Oeveo Universal Mount 600-10H x 6W x 10D". They are great to keep the UPS off the floor so cleaning staff can safely mop and also put the UPS at a height where they are easy to operate and view the LCD screen.

Having purchased StarTech.com products (including a server rack) before, I figured I'd try this bracket to hang a switch. I was impressed with the high quality of bends and welds, and the powder coat finish. Solid build, straight steel, true 90 degree bends, and no sharp edges. I swapped out the included wall hanging screws for lag bolts and used it in a horizontal position to hang the switch below floor joists. [I figured if I could do pull-ups on it, it would hold a 2 lb switch.] About a week later, I was finishing up the network installation at a new build house. The builder installed wall cabinet was too small to fit all of the wiring and a network switch. It was a no-brainer to get another bracket to hang a switch vertically on the wall just outside the wall cabinet for a clean-looking installation that the homeowner can be proud of. Very happy with the product!

Purchased this in order to install some Meraki switches and MX in an old telephone closet that was just too shallow to mount normally. This rack is nice and lightweight which makes mounting it very easy and it comes with all the hardware you need to mount it and the equipment you need to mount to it. Total size is 8U which was perfect for our Fiber modem, Firewall and 2 48 port switches. Also excuse the crudity of the photo as our fiber was only roughed in when I took that photo.

This is an amazing piece of equipment! At first glance, the price might seem a bit expensive. But when you look at it and hold it, you realize that it is well built. It doesn't fold up and that's good. Instead of being made of 3 pieces of steel with a hinge point being a weak link, it is made from one solid piece of steel. The depth is only around 6 inches which is nice for smaller rack mounted equipment. AND it comes with 6 x 1 1/2" wood screws, as well as 12 cage nuts and screws! I can't wait to install it!

Really nice, does what it's intended for. Would have have like better mounting screws included, as the only included big wood screws for mounting however I wanted to bolt it to brick wall. Note if you buy this just get some additional proper wall mounting screws or bolts.
