O'Connor Viiolin Method Violin Book 2

Love these books. Great for my sons classes.

Mark O'Connor is a world class violinist and his method books are nothing short of exceptional. Now most of the violin tutors that I've seen lean heavily on original works created for the book. Mark utilizes fiddle-tunes that are recorded within the violin community. Thus, The O'Connor Method has the student playing much sooner and, because the tunes are familiar, it moves the student through the initial stages quicker than other methods do.This is not to say that O'Connor lowers the bar. There's a progression planned for the student that carries the artist along at a far better pace.I couldn't be happier with my purchase of The O'Connor Method and would recommend it to any new student

Teacher wanted us to get this for sight reading and different bowing techniques. It is not very advanced, so unfortunately after 2 weeks we are buying the next level. It's not cheap, but at least my kid is having fun with the tunes.

Good solid viloin/fiddle instructions.Most likely the best book on violin/fiddleMost books go in the directions of Violin OR Fiddle.But like Mark O, himself, it walks a thin line between violin and fiddle.

I finished Suzuki book 1 and my teacher wanted to see how a respond to the O’Connor method. I responded well. This book is challenging and fun.
