I have a nut problem - this makes it easy!
I played tennis and remember having a similar device to pickup tennis balls. It got me thinking about all the acorns in my lawn - the Garden Weasel! The Garden Weasel picks up the acorns easily. I fill a 5 gallon bucket in less than 30 minutes. Not only is it easy to use, functional and high quality; it also makes yardwork fun and easy. Super lightweight, great handle. My in-laws and multiple neighbors have purchased one since I got mine. True game changer. Thanks to the team for making this!

Works OK, not great.
It definitely works, but the product could use some quality-of-life updates. The black hand wrap smears black coloring onto your hands; this was just after a half hour of initial use, straight out of the box. It does pick up nuts from an oak tree; however, it can't pick up hickory nuts unless they're outside of the shell. It definitely can't pick up the shell. You have to use a lot of force to scoop things up too. If you push down, and roll, when covering an area it works. I'm fairly strong and worked up a sweat after just 30 minutes. I'm not sure how a young or elderly person would be expected to use this. When the basket is full there is no way to empty it (at least none I have found) other than manually pulling the wires aside. I think if they used a better hand wrap, made the pole longer, and made the gap between the wires slightly larger it would work great. So, if you're younger (20s to 50s), and in decent shape, you can use it. If not, I wouldn't recommend it.

Works great for really small acorns
My oak tree recently started producing acorns. Very small around 1/2" and smaller. Impossible to rake and the sheer number of them...awful. This thing works GREAT! You need to make sure you have the right size basket for what you are picking up. I don't have a problem with the acorns falling out and dumping them out by moving the wires isn't a problem. They go right back to the position they should be in. Overall, I would recommend this item to anyone who has the same problem as me...tiny acorns and no time!

Absolute waste of money
I generally like Garden Weasel products, I have many of their gardening tools. This nut gatherer does not work. Period. Ten minutes of rolling this thing around a tree with thousands of tiny acorns on the ground around it. It has gathered about two dozen of them. It does not gather them well, and once it does have some acorns inside of it, it just flings them out. The lawn vac is still king.

Fantastic Small Nut Gathering Tool
My neighbor has a giant Live Oak tree in her backyard and it's branches extened deep into my backyard. That Oak tree has dropped an insane amount of acorns for the past two years and it's been a mess. I've seen the Garden Weasel at big box stores but it clearly wasn't going to work on small acorns. I didn't realize there's a version suited for gathering small nuts until finding it on Amazon. This tool is a must have. Not only does it pick up the acorns laying on top of the soil but it can pick up acorns that have been partially buried in the soil. Keep a 5 gallon bucket close by to frequently empty the Garden Weasel. It is a lot of work but there's no better way to remove so many acorns. Sadly there's plenty more in the tree waiting to drop.

The Small Size Works Great for Tiny Acorns.
I find it difficult to bend over and pick up nuts from the ground. The lawn mower can sometimes fling these nuts with great force so I like to remove them before I mow. I use two different sizes of nut rollers. The large size works well with walnuts but won’t pick up small objects like acorns. The small size works well with even the smallest of acorns, some are smaller than marbles. These nut rollers Work well and certainly save a lot of aches and pains caused from bending to collect hundreds of acorns.
