This is the brush I was looking for
This brush does have real boar bristles, without any nylon bristles, and the bristles don't fall out on first use as with some other brushes. The brush does not have a bad smell, or any smell, thank goodness.I was allergic to my last hair brush! No problems with this one.An insert in the box points out that the oval (grooming) brushes, like this one, are for smoothing and conditioning your hair. Paddle brushes are for smoothing, grooming, and straightening. After several purchases of bad brushes, I'm happy with this brush and its reasonable price. Thank you to Denman.

The real deal
I love Denman’s natural boar bristle brushes. My hair type is 3a/3b and this brush works wonderfully on my hair. I section my hair in fours parts and have no problems getting the brush through my hair. This brush is the same ones I purchased a few years ago, I decided it was time to buy another so I did. This is also the same boar bristle brush found on Denman’s own website. D82L.

nice small brush
This bristle brush will do the job for me. I only wish the bristles were a little bit stiffer like my old Denman brush. The small size is fine for daily use and will pack well for eventual travel.

Disappointed, did not last!
The brush has become detached from the handle. It didn't last me 6 months. I don't know why this happened. I thought these were durable brushes. I'm so disappointed. :(

Used on Thick/Kiny-Curly hair
My daughter and I have the toughest of hair. Its very thick and curly. This brush is the best brush we used so far. It slicks all of the curls and gives our hair an over all neat look.

It does not reach your scalp
I don’t have thick hair and I cannot brush the tangles out of my hair with it not to mention that it would never reach my scalp. I have never paid this much for a brush before and encourage others to save your money or think twice before you purchase this brush.

Not worth it
Not worth it I think it’s very cheap the bristles are very soft they broke off a lot end it didn’t last very long.

Could barely get through my thinnish hair and the bristles kept coming out
When the brush could get through my hair, it felt great. But I really had to work at it to get it through my hair. I have fairly thin, long hair (but it's bushy). Also from the time I took it out of the box and used it the first time, the boar's bristles were coming out. This brush is too expensive (even at $20) to have bristles come out. I can buy a cheap Target brush and not have that issue. Don't waste your money.

Lovely finishing brush
I got the D82 which is the finishing brush with all-natural bristles and I love it. I have long, thick hair which is quite course and prone to frizz. Obviously as this is a finishing brush I have to set angle my hair with a comb first, but this really helps me keep my hair smooth and frizz free, and stops oil from my roots settling and spreads it down my hair. I wash my hair every 5 days because if I wash it too frequently it goes all dry and frizzy, and this helps keep my hair looking fresher for longer. I’m brushing my hair way more now I have thisbecause this is just so pleasant to use.

Denman's is a proper hairbrush
This is a hairbrush that really goes through my hair without tearing it out or scraping my scalp. It is an ideal size with a handle that fits my hand & I find it easy to use. The bristles are quite dense so should last for years. I am delighted to have found a proper bristle hairbrush at last. I would recommend this one if someone wants an old-fashioned type of brush at a very realistic price.

Nice idea but not practical
I read that boar bristle is the best for fine hair, however 1) the bristles dont actually go completely through the hair, which results in a frizzy bush-like Hermione-esque situation - in practice not ideal and 2) if you're not careful you can catch an individual bristle on your finger, they're like needles and actually pierced the skin - also not ideal, in practice or otherwise.

I wouldn't bother buying...
It's a very very soft brush and by this I mean it brushes about 5 hairs, it doesn't go deep enough in the hair to really brush it. I've had other Denman brushes which are far superior. I have fine hair but a lot of it and really felt this did nothing. The only thing I use this for is if I'm putting my hair in a pony tail, I use it to smooth the top.
