This thing is fantastic! I just acquired an adolescent male cat who eats like a vacuum cleaner! He would finish his food so fast and I would constantly need to hold him back from stealing the other cats' food. My daughter told me about this so I thought I would try it. It works perfect! He does real good licking it pretty clean and most importantly, my other two cats can eat in peace. I wash it off right after he's done; it washes very easy. Thanks! Highly recommend!

This is a nice little device for helping to slow down a fast eater. It scoots around a little while in use, but I feel like that's part of the fun for the kitty. One of my cats used to eat so fast that she would sometimes throw up afterward, but this has helped reduce the portion of food and the speed at which she eats, and now we have no issues with throwing up.

The cats really enjoy these. It keeps them busy trying to like the food out of them for a good while. They clean up easily with a sponge and some soap and water. The pate food works best in them. Only 4 stars because the cats can tear them if they try and chew on them. The green one has some really tight areas where they can't lick the food out of. Which leads to them trying to use their teeth on it. And they have taken a couple chunks out of them. So I will keep an eye on them and pick them up once they get to that point. Still good but I would just get the orange ones if I had it to do over again.

Review update as of July 25th, 2023: Purchased a replacement pair, green & blue, and still love the green mat. I ditched the blue mat after five days because it’s a pain to keep clean. I couldn’t release the wet food from the tiny squares even with the jet setting on my outdoor hose. I used an old toothbrush, but that’s a pain, too. Much easier to clean the green mat.(Prev review) I love this and my cat loves this. It’s been working great (purchased May 2022) until it got this weird stain and greasiness on it (see photos). I always store this clean, so, this isn’t because of food residue. So, I washed it and the greasiness went away, although not the orange stain. I used this particular mat in our camper when we travel, so, after washing it I stored it in the pantry. About a month later I brought it out and the greasiness had returned. It’s a mystery, and decided that I didn’t want my cat eating off of it anymore. Other than the greasiness and the stain, this is a good product.

It’s just okay. Very hard to clean.

EDIT, 6 weeks later: I wouldn't recommend this product - In terms of quality, it does NOT hold up in the long run. I purchased it just 6 weeks ago for my energetic cat, hoping it would help burn off some of his energy. The product worked in this regard. However, I agree with other reviewers who have said that their silicone mat started to develop black spots on the back, indicating the presence of mold. This silicone material gets moldy. Despite the fact that, as soon as my cat was done eating, I'd wash the mat! I ended up throwing it out for safety and hygiene reasons.I purchased this product to help burn some off of my very energetic, newly adopted 3 year old cat’s energy, not so much to slow down his eating. I’d say it took him about a week to get used to having to work harder for his food, but he eventually got it, and uses it just fine now! I think it’s great that it makes him work just a bit more physically and mentally for his food, getting into all the crevices, as he would in the wild. I serve him a pate wet food, and agree with one other user who said that with this texture of foods you should expect 1 teaspoon or so of food waste (morsels of food get stuck in the tiny corners). Just a heads up!

Great for slowing down my cat from eating too fast and then running to eat his brother’s food, from his dish. Works best if you spray the dish, when done, with kitchen sprayer, for cleaning.

The media could not be loaded. Wow! Every since getting this lick mat, I can’t believe I got one sooner. My young, crazy cat loves to wait until she’s “dying” of hunger (she lies) and runs over to eat. She used to gobble up her meal and then immediately throw up after from eating so fast! Not anymore. My final straw was her barfing all over the window. She hasn’t thrown up once since getting this mat a couple months ago. Simple to use, easy to clean. Great quality silicone. Slip resistant, but not a suction cup base. Love this purchase!
