Pleased with the easel
I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews online. But, all the components arrived intact, & with no bent parts. The holder for the brushes and the thinner were both affixed to the primary horizontal bracket. Perhaps other buyers overlooked this. All screws & washers were located in their appropriate holes, ready for adjustment. Truthfully, the easel required little or no assembly instructions, so I don't know why some buyers had issues with that. I agree, the small washers might be lost if assembling in plein air, but the components do not need to be entirely removed for adjusting, especially if you frequently paint on canvases the same size.My only complaints are: 1) holes on brush holder are quite small. Smallest hole won't even accommodate an 1/8" brush, but that's not a major issue. 2) Slot for palette is thinner than I would prefer, but I can easily acquire a sheetmetal palette piece to remedy that issue.

Fantastic value for the money
I bought this because my husband absconded with my fairly lightweight metal easel for his uses. I have been delighted with this! It's a great weight, fantastically adjustable, and has become my pastel painting easel. It stands up to the varying pressures of soft, oil, and pencil pastels, and I can work on a wide variety of canvas sizes. If I need another, I'd buy another of these rather than another wood easel (I have a wonderful $200 one, but I hate the way it adjusts, so I only use it for large scale acrylics). Fabulous choice. Highly recommended

Good for the price
Sturdy unlike cheap wood ones. Sliders work well, have back padding and easy to adjust. Pretty sure it'll hold at most a 40" tall canvas. One part came bent but I "fixed" it with pliers. Annoying but what gets delivered unaffected anymore? Assrmbly directions are horrible, blurry photos and nonsense text. It is easy enough to put together though. I do wish it had adjustable feet or legs because nothing seems level, but that's my house, not the product. I would buy again for the price alone. $30 less expensive than Blick or local stores.

Sturdy and versatile
I am impressed by this easel. I wasn't too sure what to expect, but what I have is an incredibly sturdy easel that can be adjusted to fit every size canvas I have and to accommodate whichever position I am painting in. The instructions are brief, and the accompanying pictures are tiny, but the easel was ultimately pretty easy to put together (granted, I really like assembling things so it might be a bit tricky for some people). I would call myself a novice painter, and a hobbyist, so for my needs it is excellent, especially for the price. Someone who is a professional and/or who has used a variety of high quality easels might be a bit disappointed, but I think they still can get some good use out of it.

Really nice product
This product folds up and opens up nicely. So if you like to paint and you are cramped for space, this productis a great choice. It is also lightweight.

Lightweight yet sturdy
I like this easel a lot. I have several others, mostly smaller and a large heavy one.I can easily move it outside, upstairs and downstairs. Handles large or small items.

Using for a Mirrix tapestry loom
This Del Mar easel reminds me of the easel I owned/use in 1975-79 in Oahu, HI in my Navy days painting the portraits of the aircraft in my squadron. Now, it will be used to hold my Mirrix "Zeus" tapestry loom while I weave new types of portraits! It has a good weight and is well built. The only problem was there was as a bent spot on the bottom edge of the left side of the mast. it did not affect the assembly/use,, so not returning it. Box was not damaged, so it got past the inspection line at packing or somewhere along the way,, but no real concern. Price was great.......near what I paid in 1975,, so you know how expensive that old easel was.

Its great except....
This easel is great, but for me as an artist it has one major flaw, and I am not sure if it's just I misbuilt it, or something... but the shelve that is suppose to hold my canvas is not easily adjusted... and I like to be able to move the canvas up and down while I'm working... I had to use a set of pliers just to tighten it... but now what happens when I want to move it? Am I gonna have to grab a set of pliers? It's annoying and what makes it extra annoying is the top part works perfectly... like a dream. But the bottom is horrible, unless I screwed it on wrong.. but I don't know. This was a let down for me. Other that that... it looks great and it was super easy to assemble even with the terrible instructions that was obviously translated through a computer translator.. I still understood.
