Hand Kitchen tool for east Indians
This is called Boti Daa in Bengali and is extensively used by most communities living in the eastern part of India. This is used to cut and chop all sorts of vegetables and in bygone days used to be the mainstay of kitchen tools. It's easy to peel and chop the different vegetables and other eatables but one has to conveniently sit and carry out tasks as given in the picture. However, this Daa should be slim in the waist and carry attachment for grinding at its top (second picture from Upenn Art History). However, we loved the ease of use of this kitchen tool and hope you too!!
