Outstanding Value
Is this lens at par with more expensive RF lenses from $3,000 to $12,000? Of course not. Is F11 an ideal aperture? Of course not. However, I picked this up for roughly $500 and under decent light conditions, it provides exceptional results. Canon has done a nice job here. As others have stated, the lens is extremely light and can be handheld all day long. I have more expensive Canon options and I feel the the autofocus on the RF F11 600 is pretty responsive. Also, the form factor of this lens is small and manageable. With this lens, you get A LOT MORE than you pay for. The more I use the lens, the more I like it. If you are willing to spend a little time getting acclimated to the RF F11 600, it will provide outstanding value. I have to believe that the 800 is every bit as good as this.

Exactly what I wanted!
The design and feel of the lens is amazing. It's great if you're looking for distance with the versatility of a lightweight sleek design. Price point is low for how good this lens is.

Good So Far/Not for Everyone
I received the lens today and have only done a few shots but I am liking what I am seeing. I will update this review after I have used it for a while.Unfortunately the price and the long focal length will attract a lot of people who will not know how to use it because they don't understand the basics of photography. If you cannot clearly define reciprocity as it relates to photography, don't know the Exposure Triangle, understands the mathematics involved, etc., then you will probably will not like this lens. This is not a criticism of the lens.I am looking forward to using the lens and my first impression is that the image quality will be good and the small size and the lighter weight will be a boon for older shooters like me.Upate: I took the lens out for a while yesterday and am really pleased with the results. There is definitely a learning curve and I still believe this lens is not for everyone. However, if you know the technical aspects of photography or are willing to learn, this lens is a reasonably priced way to have a long telephoto that did not exist prior to this new lens.

Excellent value for the price
This lens is absolutely excellent, so long as you are planning to use it in situations where it is meant to be used. Think wildlife in well-lit situations, or sports that happen during the middle of the day. The autofocus speed is nothing to complain about so long as you manage your expectations. You simply can't find a 600mm anywhere else for anywhere close to this price. Keep in mind that the autofocus will be limited to the center of the image, so as to say- no edge-to-edge autofocusing even with the R5.This image was captured in Jackson Hole on the 600mm wide open and handheld. The camera used was the Canon r5.

RF600 doesn’t disappoint.
I was sceptical that an f11 lens would be useful but decided to try it out. The price seemed very reasonable. I was very surprised at my results. Obviously you will have to use the lens in good light and even then shoot at relatively high ISO’s but the results are quite good. Image stabilization in the lens coupled , in my case, with IBIS in the R5 made hand holding doable as low as 1/60th with good sharpness. The lens is not an “L” lens and the build quality is ok. Very good for what you pay. I wish they had supplied a lens hood. All in all a very nice lens for the price. More for events and the beach than for birds. I’m glad I bought it and thanks to Amazon for the very fast delivery.

I was skeptical, but it's been wonderful
I have been using the Sigma 150-600 contemporary lens for years but wanted to upgrade to an RF lens to use with my R6 body. This has been wonderful for bird photos. Being stuck at 600 mm and f/11 is a bit limiting, but not nearly as much as I anticipated. The biggest perk of this lens, is I can get great photos without using a tripod/monopod, unlike the Sigma lens. I also purchased a 2x extender which has been helpful. I set the ISO to get the right depth of field I'm after, and thankfully the R6 has a pretty low noise level. I use Topaz to get out any remaining noise in post processing.

Is not compatible with Canon EOS 80D or 90D
I was so excited to get a 600ml lens at this price. I thought any Canon lens would fit any Canon camera. I was sadly mistaken. It also is not compatible with the Canon Extender EF 1.4x.So my low rating is only due to that, as I do not know how it would perform, hopefully someone else has better luck than I did.

Doesn't Quite Do It For Me
I wanted to like this lens. But I ended up sending it back to Amazon. It is fine in terms of build, value and basic overall quality. My disappointment is in its sharpness. It's not all that sharp. Focus speed is slow compared to other high quality lenses. At 600mm, acquiring a far away subject can be difficult due to the limited field of view. For quick moving birds in flight...very difficult to acquire and properly focus. Overall, it's a good value for the money to get a decent 600mm lens. But it's not good enough for me. I think this lens is best used in well lit conditions on a subject that is not moving much. Just FYI, I have achieved better results from my EF 70-300mm version 2 lens. That lens is great. Very sharp and near instant focus speed. And a little cropping with such a sharp image from it gives results just as good or better than this 600mm lens. And it's far more versatile. I used the this 600mm lens on a Canon EOS R6 camera.

affordable and lightweight
I watched many review videos on this lens before buying it so I understood what I would be getting. This is for the photographer that isn't capable or willing to pay $12,000 for the 600mm f/4 (or willing to carry it) but still needs/wants that reach. This lens in comparison is affordable and capable of using handheld but as another reviewer mentioned, if you are a beginner that doesn't understand the basics, you might be in for a shock due to misunderstanding the product or the specs (like stating it didn't fit their EF mount lens - of course it didn't, this has an rf mount). Despite underestimating the limitations a little, I am happy with the lens. It takes some getting used to even when you know these limitations but that shouldn't dissuade you, treat it for what it is and not what you want it to be (like an f/4) and I think you'll be satisfied. I got some really nice clear images on the first day I tried it and can't wait to use it more.
