So far had good success with the NAS including Seagate IornWolf pro drives. Was a bit more difficult for a period to get a 10GBe card with space for SDs. Deciding whether it is worth it until full network goes 10GBe. Pulling 230mb write, 270mb read currently over 2.5gbe.

Took the two drives from my aging QNAP TS-212, put them in this device, it immediately recognised them as a mirrorer RAID pair, set itself up accordingly. I had little to do but to switch it on with the memory upgrade I ordered and it was running again. The only change was the MAC address on the router so it would get the correct local address.

Look no further if you want a fast simple file server for a small business, or even at home, maybe a little over kill for home.The Rsync functionality is second to none, shocked on how quick this performs, even over a mediocre internet connection.Would recommend to anybody looking for a small business server. The permissions (once enabled advanced permissions) is brilliant works just as you’d expect it and simple to setup.Ensure you setup either a storage pool or a volume. If you want a simple raid 1, go for a volume. Don’t bother with all the automatic storage options, waste of time. You just want simple quick efficient storage.I used x2 1TB drives in a simple raid 1 config and works very quickly, even with a live Rsync running always in the background to the cloud.

Upgraded to the QNAP NAS as my WDMyCloudEX2 was discontinued, and they withdrew a ton of functionality... and what an upgrade it's been! The QNAP software suite covers everything from basics to advanced requirements. Easy to upgrade RAM and HDD sizes, and additional PCI modules. Works great with Android and Apple, and instantly backs up all my photos as I take them, and files as I download them. Built in Virtualization software is great for creating Virtual PCs. Highly recommended

Very durable easy to fit, really good value

I used to have cheap WD HomeCloud NAS. It was fine but it was getting old and hard drive started getting bad. I've looked at many options and brands and finally decided on this QNAP NAS. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. Superb, full featured and fast NAS that I don't expect to replace for years. I've been deciding between QNAP and Synology. They both are great NAS devices. Synology is more user friendly but does not have as many features as QNAP has. On the other hand, QNAP is a bit more techy and geeky. So if you want easier setup go with Synology but if you want all the features and full customisability go with QNAP.Again, this is great device that is a bit expensive but it's well worth it as you are buying premium NAS device that will last you years and that will have all the features you would want. Also, its great feeling confident that all my photos I've taken throughout many years are safe and will not be lost because of cheap faulty hardware.

Running my PLEX server is a breeze. I can't get over how snappy and responsive the PLEX app is on my other devices, since the server is running off of this beast. I upgraded the RAM and installed a PCIe card also, which was a breeze. I am thrilled with this product. Installing drives is so easy. They just pop on the bracket and slide in. Child's play
