The animals in this kit are really cute but very small. Most of them require use of a regular sewing needle, not a beginner kid’s safety needle. Like many so-called beginner sewing kits, this is pretty difficult - I had to most of the “easy” level toucan for my 6.5 year old and help my 8 year old (8 year old did figure out the self threading needle). The worst part is that the thread the set comes with is really poor quality. It snags then shreds on the self threading needle and on the felt. It makes for a frustrating project and would never hold up to a kids sewing machine. The scissors also need to be held perfectly to cut the thread, which is not super easy for a 7 year old. The spare felt pieces are too thick to cut with the scissors or poke holes with the larger beginner needles.

I ordered the Animal Safari Sewing and Craft Kit for my 7 year old son. He absolutely loves it! It’s so easy for him to understand and follow the instructions and he loves the little animals that he gets to make! This is perfect for beginners and a great way to encourage a child that is inter in sewing!

I have enjoyed this kit with our our four grandchildren ages 8,6,5 and 4. They are happy with their finished pieces. I hear my little five year old Clara declaring she knows how to sew...you go in and out and up and down. This is their first sewing and it has been fun and we do it together. The little animals are very cute when completed.

I purchased the sewing kit for my little cousin. She loves it! As a beginner she did need assistance but it makes for great bonding time. She really enjoyed learning how to sew the little animals.

I had to take a peak before wrapping for Christmas. This kit is so adorable. Everything is included, each animal has what's needed in individual packs, and the box is cute.

This kit surprised me with how much was in it! Hours of fun and a perfect teaching kit for my 5 year old. Not only does it come with plastic needles, but it also provides actual ones allowing her to advance. I love how each project is individually wrapped so that we were able to dive right in without much prepping needed. Definitely will be buying again in the future to help continue teaching how to sew in a fun & engaged way!

Wonderful little kit. Age appropriate. Everything is pre-cut and each animal kit is in its separate bag. Even the stuffing! Takes out all the guesswork for the recipient. I will definitely keep this in mind for a gift again.
