You do have to boil and rinse kettle at least 3 times before use. You can smell the manufacturer’s metallic smell as it boils and as you rinse. I have had no problems in taste after each time after doing that and it does say in instruction leaflet in any case. Works as a kettle should no leaks, drips and puts out lovely each time 👍😃

The lid doesn't fix on securely, it has movement and steam comes out of the edges. It also leaks extremely hot water from the lip of the lid when pouring. This occurs even when it is not at maximum fill level. I think this is a bit dangerous and most kettle lids are secure, no wobble or loose openings for water to escape from. There are also 3 clouded, opaque plastic segments where the blue light shines through, the rest are all clear. I don't mind that bit as much due to the discount as I can hide it by turning the kettle round at a different position but the water leakage and especially being so hot is a concern.

Not surprised this product is now cheap. I purchased it as a gift Xmas 2020 at £27.99; my brother needed a kettle! But during May 2021 he woke to find the kettle had somehow sprung a leak and water was everywhere. Unfortunately he also has oak worktops so it really wasn't ideal!A kettle in my opinion should last alot longer than 17 measely months. At the time it was advertised at a mid budget, stylish; good kettle. It turned out to be stylish-ish, fair dues; but not very good at all. It wasn't quieter than a normal kettle when in use, but it did boil a little quicker. Still wouldn't make me give it a second chance though. It's cheap cos it's medium size and evidently, doesn't last in a daily home environment. Not worth the money at the time; don't consider it to be worth the money now.

Really good looking kettle and fast boiling

Love the matt black finish and shape. Small blue lights show around body of kettle when in use which looks smart. Kettle heats water to boiling quickly. Overall, very pleased with product.
