The base of the book is in English. Most Italian language books are 100% in Italian, but this one has the instructions and explanations in English. There are a variety of exercises (gap-fill, translations, simple conjugations, and select-the-right-verb). I studied for a year through an online program, and one year at an Italian university. I live in Italy so the lack of an audio CD does not affect my studies. As a review guide to help a student advance or a tool for private lessons, this book is great. A student still needs to speak and hear Italian, which this book does not offer.

Good resource for those who are looking for a lot of repetitive practice...However, quite a few errors in the book. For example, in regular present tense practice, the book includes irregular verbs or verbs with spelling changes (without notifying the reader). So essentially, you're practicing and learning the verb incorrectly. Be wary. Otherwise, good resource.

Practice Makes Perfect Italian Verb Tenses is an absolutely indispensable learning aid for all students of Italian. In fact the entire Practice makes perfect grammar and sentence comprehension and practice series is fantastic. And these are very reasonably, even modestly, priced books. A wealth of on point info and learning. RECOMMENDED.

I am not young. This book gives me what I need without going to school. I am happy with the book. I use it a lot!

An excellent guide to mastering the Italian verb forms in all of their tenses. Plenty of clear examples and exercises. To get the most from this book however, you should already have a basic Italian vocabulary from previous study.

One of the best Italian verb books I have and I have many. Many examples of Italian verb tenses. I highly recommend it.
