ONE FLAW RUINS IT
This brace was perfect aside from one major, uncomfortable, and sore causing flaw. The part that comes from the palm to in between the thumb and index finger and to the top of the hand is angled much too far towards the thumb. The fabric does not brace evenly between the thumb and index finger. Instead, only an edge of the fabric is forced to the base of the thumb right where the webbing begin. You can see in the picture how this fabric is folded near the palm and made to come out towards the thumb even more than it already is. I can't imagine this comfortably fitting any normal human. I measured my wrist and selected and received the right size. This doesn't just cause extreme tightness, discomfort, and sores at the webbing. It puts so much pressure I am sore to the bone. I've tried to stretch the fabric out, loosen the brace, and add padding to no avail. It's really a shame too, because this brace was really comfortable, slim, and supportive otherwise.

Not what it seems
The size is for China, not U.S.A.If order a size larger than you need.I ordered a med. and it barely fit and is tight but still doesn't fit.The so called "carbon" pieces are a joke and are so thin & bendy, they do nothing. This splint does NOT keep your wrist in a stable position. The thumb is somewhat stable but the wrist moves side to side which causes the tendon to pull & stretch, causing pain. This is a $7.95 Chinese child's brace that is marked up with false positive reviews.Don't waste your money on this P.O.S.

Great pain relief for De Quervain's
I appear to have a mix of De Quervain's tendondosynovitis and mild carpal tunnel syndrome (repetitive strain injuries from heavy keyboard and mouse usage). The first time I put this brace on, I was amazed at how much pain relief it provided compared to my other wrist braces (I have five of them!).I also have very small wrists (circumference 5 3/4") and a small frame overall, and the small size of this brace adjusts to fit me pretty well. This brace seems to be well constructed, and I think it will hold up well to daily wear. It's hand washable, too. This brace immobilizes the joint at the base of the thumb very well, which is what it's designed to do. The downside of this is that you are limited in what you can do while wearing it. The other four fingers still have excellent mobility, though. So, if you need to get the thumb stabilized, this is a great brace. If you don't need to have the thumb restricted, you might be happier with a brace with an open thumb area.

Pain Free and can still use hand and wrist!
Easy to figure out and apply to dominant wrist by myself. Received this quickly, via UPS, and have been wearing several hours now in place of another, older splint. The Velpeau splint/brace is SO MUCH more comfortable and already helping with constant cracking, popping, swelling, pain, inflammation and stiffness of sudden onset, arthritis symptoms caused by a severe allergic reaction to a quarterly injection of new medication I received recently. No medications have helped, and to be honest, I'm rather leary of taking any further medications at this point. I purchased this splint for my dominant hand, hoping for some relief so I could maybe start functioning again. I'm so happy with it after just a few hours of finally being pain free, I've already ordered a second one for my non-dominant hand! Thank you 😊

Why you should never buy this product!
So! Out of all the products I have purchased on Amazon, this is, by far, THE WORST wrist support product I’ve ever bought. Background:I have carpel tunnel in both my hands. Last year, when my right wrist was hurting, I bought this product as my doctor recommended it and I needed relief during the day and night. Then, 6 months later, I over worked my left and got it as well. (Keep in mind, both of my wrist are used by the same product and BOTH have the same issue. This is not just a one product issue. There are TWO of the same product displaying the SAME problem). When it arrived and it’s contents:* Undamaged* Straps made it easy to apply* Came with instructionsPros:* Can’t move my hand except backwards (which is what I want)* Machine Washable* Straps easy to tighten* Thick and comfortable* Velcro stays on* Metal bar used around the wrist comes out easily for machine wash.* Metal bar comes with plastic strap for easy pull out* Metal bar pocket is velcroed in and easy to undo.Cons:* Absorbs sweat and body odor well which if you use it daily like I have to, it will start to stink after 3 days. So! You either have to wash it every 3 days, spray with odor eliminator, or wait till you do laundry. Laundry I recommend as the brace will begin to stain.* Metal bar (wrist), after a while, will slowly come out after a couple weeks of wearing the product. If your not careful and not watching it, the bar will stab you in the arm.* My MAIN PROBLEM:There are TWO metal bars (as seen in the picture) located around the thumb. Their job is to enforce the thumb and prevent the thumb from moving, like grasping items and such. There is also a strap around the thumb meant to keep the metal bars in place and tighten the brace. (I, don’t use my thumb very often while wearing the brace(doctors orders), but there are times I need to grab stuff. Keep this in mind). After a month of wear, one of the metal bars(thumb) began ripping through the fabric of the brace. When it was fully exposed, if I wasn’t careful, would scratch or stab me when I went to the restroom, put clothes on, changed my clothes, ran, carried items, etc. Not only did it hurt me but if I walked by my co-workers and wasn’t careful, they’d get scratched and stabbed too!It got even worse when the SECOND metal bar started poking out. Any activity I had made me have a routine of checking the bars and pushing them back in (I SHOULDN’T HAVE TO DO THIS!). I tried tightening, loosening, even going as far as to sew the ends so I could relax for once. Yes. I had to sew to get relief. That! Actually worked....for a month and a half. Yes. 45 days. I shouldn’t have to sew a product. In fact, I never have! Until this one!Thinking it was just that item being a flaw, I bought another one for my left hand since it started causing me pain in the night. (Same product) After 2! Not 1! 2 weeks of use, the metal bars ripped out of the brace! I sewed that one too but once again, it didn’t last long. Second time around, I tried sewing it the best I could to prevent it from breaking out again. Basically, I over-sewed(if that’s a thing) the holes because I was so sick of being stab. Ripped right through it 1 week later, no problem. Conclusion:The pain in both my wrists have improved, although I still have pain some days when I over work it. It is comfortable, tight and durable.HOWEVER! This is one product I would encourage you NOT to buy as the metal bars cause problems early into use and are super dangerous and incredibly painfully. The best thing to do if you just bought this product or plan to buy this product, throw it away and the idea of it! I don’t know if I want to buy a wrist and thumb support brace from Amazon, as now I’m concerned of buying a brace that wants to hurt me.Yes, it’s helpful but dangerous in the process.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Stablizes my thumb and keeps me from re-injury
My doctor recommended this product and it is perfect. Very comfortable, yet strong enough to keep me from injury. I had gotten tendonitis from over-use of computer mouse and keyboard - got a little to excited about my online business! This wonderful brace did the trick - thank you!
