Ever wonder what it would be like if cars could fly Now kids can live that thrill and see a Hot Wheels RC take to the skies with the Street Hawk. This vehicle offers a cool combo of on-ground remote-controlled performance, like proportional ground steering, plus the aerial performance of a plane. The Flying Car RC is durable and lightweight, too, allowing it to perform impressive aerial maneuvers and fly up to 200 feet in the air. It's 2-in-1 RC action right in your own two hands! Features: Race it on land or take it to the skies. Flies up to 200 feet. 360-degree proportional ground steering. Charges via USB or transmitter.

Happy 6 year old
This toy was the #1 hit for my 6 year old son this Christmas. For around 50 dollars, it has already paid for itself in entertainment value. It truly does fly, just as advertised. Its light foam body means it holds up well to the inevitable crashes it will go through. Ours has a couple slight dings in the nose and tail from "heavy" landings on the road. I would suggest ideally taking this to the park, or any area where you could take off from a paved surface (such as a walking track) and have plenty open space to fly, and land on grass. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that one charge will hold at least 30 minutes of outdoor fun. Some RC toys seem to spend as much time inside on the charger as they do being played with.If I had to be critical... the props do come off and will get lost. It comes with 2 spares but we are already on the last set. Replacements are available from Mattel here; https://store.mattel.com/ItemDetail.aspx?cat=139&item=65444 - but they are currently back-ordered, presumably still catching up after the Christmas rush. Also, because of its very light weight, it is not so easily controlled in anything more than a moderate breeze. I guess this is a trade-off with durability, and an acceptable one considering the price, in my opinion.

Son loves it. A few cons though.
My 5 year old son wanted only 1 thing for Christmas: a Street Hawk. He loves it! But here are a few things I have discovered after having it for a month:Pros:Easy to operate. My 5 year old has no problem.Appears to be fairly durable. My 5 year old has not destroyed it yet. By first look, I thought it would surly have been broken by now. It is holding up much better than I anticipated. It has survived several crashes and still works great. Although, it is made of Styrofoam, so it should be handled with some caution.Cons:Battery life is ridiculously low. From a full charge, it can only be flown for 5-10 minutes before the battery is dead again. Although, this does not seem to bother my son. He simply puts it charging again and waits.Propellers come off frequently. They are very easy to put back on, but you must find them first. They are black plastic and sometimes difficult to locate. We solved this problem by coloring them with a gold metallic shapie. They should have been made a different color, maybe the bright orange.

with smooth pavement (not grass) to fully enjoy this toy
It appears majority of the 5 stars reviews are from folks that got it for free. I'd give it 5 stars too if it was free but since I had to pay forty five bucks it is only 3 stars worthy and here is why:You need half a football field, unobstructed, with smooth pavement (not grass) to fully enjoy this toy.The toy is made from Styrofoam which makes it drive/fly really fast and very hard to steer. Expect lots of crashes and inability to accurately maneuver it. If you give this to a 5 to 12 year old then expect it to crash a lot or get stuck on tree/roof. The plane holds up pretty well but the 4 to 1 charge to play time ratio is also very poor (40 min charge for 10 min play). As soon as your kid get the hang of flying it it'll be time to recharge. Overall, a novel toy with quick short burst of entertainment that'll quickly fade or followed with aggravation of getting it out of a tree.I don't expect my kid to enjoy this toy beyond a week of play.

Fun, sturdy, flies FAR!
The Streethawk is pretty amazing, worth the money. It flys super high and will go really far if there is wind. Be careful and use in a very wide open space. My yard is almost 1/4 of an acre and its ended up in the neighbors yard behind me. Twice it's ended up at the top of my Evergreens. We had to tape 4 long poles together to reach high enough to jostle it out of the trees. lol. It stayed in the tree for 2 days once and it lightly rained. Still works. The downside is you have to charge it for 40 minutes and only get 5-10 minutes of use. However each flight only lasts 15-20 seconds depending on how well you're steering it. Then my little one has to go fetch it. So we still get 30+ minutes of play. You can either charge with batteries or wall charger. The adults have fun too. If it ever broke I'd buy again without question.

Fun for everyone!
I don't know who was more excited about this toy, my husband or my son. I bought this for my sons 7th birthday.I charged the plane and put batteries in the controller and then wrapped it all back up so my son could open it as a present. This toy was a hit at his party everyone wanted a turn, both adults and kids. It's a little tricky to get the hang of, take off, landing, and speed but once you play with it for a while you'll get the hang of it.I think it's important to mention that this is best as an outdoor toy. We don't live on a busy street so we normally line it up in the middle of the street (adult supervision, obviously) and speed up and take off. I think it would work best in an open field, kind of like a kite.

Fun to fly
Fun to fly, durable, but flight time is about 2 min's. I am disappointed that the battery is molded into the body, so it can't be changed. With prices being so inconsistent, you need to consider what you are willing to pay for a throw away toy. My experience with the battery on similar RC planes has been a lifespan of about 6 month's. Again, it is fun to fly, and survived many crashes as I learned to control it. It had no damage at all. Once it loses enough power to fly, it can be driven. I've no interest in driving it, so with a partial charge left; I'm getting a full charge in under 20 minutes. That time is based on charging it with my PC. I haven't tried a charge with the controller, but with the complaints of the 6 AA's having a short life, I'll avoid charging in that way.

Not a great plane, not a great car. Kind of a fun toy though.
It's too light. Even in a very mild breeze it gets swept away. It flies one way, with the wind. If you want to fly back you fight and fight just to stay in one spot. Want to turn? Get ready for another nose dive, the trim buttons seem to do nothing. So, not a great plane, but still fun. It's a flying car after all. If it had a reverse gear it'd be a lot more fun. A car with no reverse, and wings sticking out the side? It gets stuck along walls all the time, fortunately my little kids don't mind chasing it around. Finally, the cheap plastic wheels are pretty crappy.
