Up to 600 feet if straight shot with no obstructions. If there are walls, floors, ceilings or anything between you and the base station it will be less than 600 feet. How much less? It varies.

Can i request five rings before i answer? the usual three rings don't allow me time to get tp phone. r. loach

You can set it up to 6 rings but be forewarned if you have VOIP service from a cable company that they set the voice mail to pick up after only 2 rings. I thought it was something wrong with my old phone but the manual to the new one explained it.
