A lot of light for a little cash
I purchased this light to start growing seeds indoors for my community garden plot, disclaimer I started the seeds for the early spring crops a bit late, so I was pleased to that it was just a plug in light, nothing to calibrate, just hang it and place the seeds below. It's been on non stop for about 3 weeks now, I know I should put the timer I purchased for it onto the light, but the build is so simple and rugged and I keep the dialed light down low. It doesn't have an "off" setting by the way.I don't know anything about growlights, and information online or youtube for this one can be found, but it's not much detail other than confirming that1- yes, it's just a light and a cord and some hanging hardware2- true it does not have an off setting on the power dial3-yes, it's friggin bright if you're dumb enough to hold it up to your face to look at it when you plug it in...guess who I'm talking about.Grow light tech and culture is pretty varied, I just hung the light without much else, other than seeds in trays, there are whole set ups with dark boxes and mylar and all that stuff, I could, and will, make one for myself, but for now, the goal is to get the tomatoes looking strong before they go into the ground.Listen, so many of amazons reviews are the bogus "it arrived on time and was a great guy" level of nonsense, I hate those, but IMO, this thing was a friggin steal at about $70, I am a little OCD and am tempted to buy another, but I might go for the more powerful one, I got the 600W, the 1000 one is about $40 more, but even if I got another 600W, I would be very pleased, and I think you might as well.*one thing, the early days of growlight instructional videos centered pretty much on indoor marijuanna cultivation, which is fine in my book, but the information I needed was regarding seeds and vegetables, and trying to use weed instructional videos to help you grow heirloom tomatoes is really an apples to bong water kind of comparison

Great Little Light for the Price
I just set this up yesterday in my basement for the purpose of growing actual vegetables. I will update this if there are any failures in the future, but for now the light is great. Very bright, and very easy to set up. It shines much brighter than my 4 6500K shop lights and the combined color spectrum puts out a very natural daylight feel. It does require some head room as the hangs down quite a bit when using the mounting wires provided, which are not adjustable. You can see this in my picture, but basically hangs down around 18 inches and then needs to be placed around 12 inches above the plant/plants. From here you can gage how much verticle space you will need, but this can't be used in a simple shelving unit like shop lights could for seed starting. The 2X2 growing area appears to be pretty spot on. I noticed the description in the title said 4x2, this is incorrect. it is 2x2 coverage. It does not put out a lot of heat, which is good for tender crops. My basement stays around 65 degrees, and when and I had this fully closed in my grown shelf, the temps only increased to around 75. I would say this device can influence your temp by 5 degrees on average and 10 degrees in very close quarters. This is fine in my opinion, and is actually beneficial. The construction is solid. There is no lack of effort here. So here are the corners they did cut: Hangers are not adjustable, so you will need to adapt a system to raise and slower the light and possible switch out the hangers in general. There is no power button, but really, most of use timers anyway as you want a specific time on and off. I feel these issues were not enough to deduct an entire star as the price point makes up for this.

No issues at all, Great buy!!!
I purchased the P600 since this will be my first serious indoor grow. I usually grow outside and I'm still learning the ropes. This light went on sale and the Viparspectra name is pretty big in the grow industry at the moment so I jumped on it but not without checking the reviews, of course. I saw a ton of really positive reviews about this light and how well it performs and then I saw a lot of negative reviews. Even with that, I purchased it. Got it pretty quick and I was amazed by it. The box isn't pretty but it's what's inside that counts. It comes with some informative papers, manuals, etc. Comes with the power cord, which is extremely sturdy, and the hanging hooks. And of course, the light itself. The build on this light is very well made. It's got heat sinks in the back with the power supply sitting on the top. The light does not make any sounds at all, whether it's on the lowest setting or the highest. I checked for the sound everyone complains about. There wasn't one. As for brightness, I wouldn't look directly at it even if it were on the lowest setting. For the size, It's powerful. My plants have grown about an inch or so within the two days I've had the light up. I wait a little to see if things would change and it did in a great way. Don't let the negative reviews get you from buying this light. It's great for small or beginner grows and the efficiency on it will keep your power bill low. I highly recommend this light and I've bought two. Thanks, Viparspectra!!!

pretty much as advertised.
I bought 2 to use together in my 3x3 foot tent. Great light output. The plants have responded well to the lights. I am in mid-flower stage and growth has been the same as my 600w hps light. The only difference is that the back foot of the tent isn't bright enough for flowing. I plan to buy 2 more to flatten out the brightness curve so that the entire tent bottom is covered. The lights are great and perform as claimed in ads. The only thing is that; yes, even together they aren't as hot as the 600w hps lamp; they still are warm enough that I have to vent the heat from the tent. Finally, my wife likes the fixtures and is planning on buying 2 to replace the 3 100 watt lightbulbs that hang over her worktable. She thinks they are cute.
