Christmas fig pudding is back!
Many years ago, the two British Christmas delicacies were easily available. Fig pudding and plum pudding. Then, over the years, fig pudding, cherished in a Bing Crosby song as "figgie" pudding vanished in the US market. Fig was my favorite, lighter in texture and less like a dark fruitcake. But this season, doing some on-line research for "Christmas" pudding, I discovered that the dear departed was still alive and available from Cole. In a nod to Bing, they did label it "figgie", but it is the real stuff, such a relief from plums and raisins. When heated and served with the traditional hard and soft sauce, it was magic - a glorious taste treat as good as ever. Don't know when Cole actually first started importing, but they are on my permanent list for every Christmas going forward.

Not tasty
My grandson and I were very disappointed the pudding looked nothing like what we saw tv and after I steamed it the pudding was still dry. It had a good flavor but was very dry

It's okay ...
I've been making an annual figgy pudding for Christmas for at least ten if not fifteen years. Realized this year I'd never had any other than my own so I decided to see what the competition was offering. This seemed like a good buy. I found it remarkably similar to my own recipe in flavor and texture. Came in a nice little container, well packaged. BBD was 2025. I expect this would have lasted until then if unopened. Overall it's okay. I wouldn't buy again. It was a nice experiment though. Made me feel better about mine!

Super easy to make.
So it’s more like cake than what we think of pudding and after years of hearing wish you a merry x mas I had to try it. I’m not a massive fan but it’s good. It’s like banana bread kinda sorta with cinnamon. But good lord. Microwave and eat it. If you’re curious like me just buy it.

Too dry
I expected a moist cake. But was too dry. I will not buy it again. And definitely too expensive. But had to try it.
