My Pocket Sloth Goes to School has been formatted to be read in landscape mode (holding your device horizontally), where it takes up the entire screen. Words and pictures display together on the screen like a traditional picture book open to two pages. A lot of self published Kindle authors can't be bothered to format their work and it displays like a mess with bits of text on one page and an image on a small part of the screen on another, so I always like to take the time to point out when authors care about their reader's experience and their own work enough to take the time to format it.Basically a little girl has a sloth who she loves playing with, the only rule, he can't come with her to school. But one day it hides in her backpack so she has to keep him hidden. But what will happen if she can't do that?

This is such a cute book. The illustrations are beautiful and fun and the story is delightful. The only downside is that my kids now want a pocket sloth - but I kinda do too, so that’s OK. We’ll make do with make believe pocket sloths and save ourselves a lot of potential mischief.

"My Pocket Sloth Goes to School" is a cute story written in rhyme about a little sloth who likes to go inside pockets to play. He breaks the only rule though, he isn't supposed to go to school. He sneaks away in a backpack and ends up in school and causes quite a scene. All the other kids love the little pocket sloth, but of course, the teacher does not appreciate all the mess he has caused. The principal is not happy either but somehow he thinks he's cool. I guess the pocket sloth was too cute to be punished and apparently the principal doesn't even mind if the pocket sloth comes back to school. So there really isn't a lesson in this story, it is just a funny, cute, feel good story for kids to laugh at and enjoy. Wouldn't it be neat to really have a pocket sloth that could go to school? It is a great story to spark imagination for kids around ages 4-6.

I LOVE this book! It’s written in a similar style to The Wonky Donkey, and that’s an awesome and hilarious story. And so is this! There are several reasons why I enjoyed it, but I’ll limit myself to three:First, the illustrations are AMAZING! That sloth is just so adorable. I want one!Second, the rhyme rolls off the to cue so effortlessly and when the book ends, you kind of want to read it again...Third, it’s a funny and fun story! An exciting page-turner for littles who want to keep following this tiny little sloth!I want to read it again! And I’d like to read a sequel too, please...

My Pocket Sloth Goes to School brought me back to my childhood when I wanted have a cute companion with me! With playful illustration, the story invite you to activities in school! What a fun idea for a pocket sloth brings smiles everywhere he goes with her! Great descriptive words that children read with adults in each set of the scene, which is very clever, too! Highly recommend!

One of the best children’s books I read in 2020. Amazing illustrations and the story was so well written. Like someone else mentioned in the reviews, it did bring to mind the Wonkey Donkey but this one is much better. It’s a really nice story about going to school bringing along this super cute pet. I would love to see more from this pair of author-illustrator.

My kindergartener and I love this book so much. The illustrations are adorable. She loves the repetition that builds new adjectives as the book goes on. She says, “I like the illustrations and I like the sloth too!” Such a great one. We’ll be reading it again and again! In fact... we’re off to do just that!

At my house we have a rule - I do not read Disney movies-made-to-books aloud. If I'm going to do a read aloud picture book it needs to be fun to read. Word play, rhymes and interactions are a must. My Pocket Sloth is exactly this. Every page has another funny situation, but also has repetition that is lyrical. Young kids love knowing what you're going to say next. Books like these stay on our shelves because they never get old.

We read about 2-3 picture books per day, as me and my children are picture-book-obsessed, and this book is by far one of the best we've read in a long time. While many books nowadays come along with a not-so-subtle message and therefore have the tendency to be teachy, this book is not. Instead it's a fun read with probably the cutest sloth in the world. The rhymes flow well and are just lovely to read out loud. They encouraged my youngest to repeat all the silly words after me, and we both really enjoyed the power and beauty of language. On top of that, this book encourages diversity, as all the kids in the class are as different as could be. In my opinion we need more such books. The world is serious enough, and kids get told what to do and how to behave every single day. Books like the Pocket Sloth, however, give them room to escape, to dive into a silly world, and to come back with lots of giggles and a huge smile on their little faces. I'll definitely recommend this book to my son's nursery and school as well as to our local library. So taken together, I can highly recommend this book.

Oh my goodness, what a sweet, funny story this is. I’m looking forward to reading it to my kids night after night after night. The illustrations are also beautiful and totally complement the text. Loved it!

Really fun and cute book with such adorable illustrations. Can't wait to read more from this author. Well worth a read.
