We also understand that some people sometimes need to follow a low FODMAP diet, which restricts the consumption of certain types of carbohydrates, including sorbitol. I consumed them for a while after having to take antibiotics. The last batch however smelt very rancid despite being in date - and unfortunately I'd just missed the return window - so it's now a very expensive plastic bottle. I've decided to opt for the more natural way dietary way of increasing butyrate within the body with the same money - reheating potato being one of them (read Michael Moseley's work).
