Simple, sturdy, worth it!!
These are the replacement set I was sent, the 1st set was slightly bent at the ends and was unable to get the plastic end caps on [ I could've modified but since I paid for new product I just opted for the replacement]. Replacement took about 5 days to get- same as original set.First and foremost I think the packaging could've been a little better and protective as it has no protection around the ends; despite that, the crossbars are extremely sturdy. This was my alternative option to a previous set I ordered on Amazon and I can't expressed how much I like these crossbars. The material is solid aluminum, nice finish, no flimsy feeling. Box does include instructions and after a quick skim, I was able to put the pieces together in about 20 minutes and install 10 minutes on vehicle. The hex head screws were solid as well as the coated hooks. Tighten the bolts was a breeze without anything bending or being compromised.I was a little skeptical about the hooks on this unit because it seemed too big for my front to back rails but it holds very tightly. I attempted to slide and lift the crossbars off the rails and it just shakes the car; not even a slight budge. So far I've only gone about 60 mph with the bar on and the wind noise was barely noticeable( like a soft whisper ). The design is like an airfoil on a plane's wing and I think it helps displace the wind noise. My last set sounded like a tornado was blowing off the roof.I will update this weekend after I strap 2 kayaks unto the crossbars and see how well it handles on the highway.

Great Value, Well Engineered
About five years ago we bought a Sportcraft Skyline XL cargo carrier (about $265) for our Prius V, for our annual trip to and from Tampa and Martha’s Vineyard. The car has no rails, and the carrier’s towers attached nicely to the window wells. We recently replaced the Prius with an F-Pace that has flush rails that are not compatible with the Skyline towers. Manufacturers wanted $650 to $750 for a new carrier, and up to $460 for new cross rails designed for the F-Pace. After a bit of research including youtube videos, I found these PHATRIP rails for about $85. There are instructions in the kit but not very helpful in the assembly – mostly good for verifying the piece inventory. It took some ingenuity (I’m a mechanical engineer) to figure out how the tower pieces go together so that the towers lock on to the flush rails and affix the cross-rails in place at the same time. Very cool design. I assembled them while watching Shark Tank. I am very impressed with the design of this system, both the tolerances of the pieces and how they function when assembled. Five stars for part manufacture, and Shark Tank-worthy for product efficiency and overall design.I first put the rails on the car to better understand the required spacing for the towers to fit the flush rails (about 44 inches clear distance between the flush rails). Then I replaced the old Skyline cross rails with these new ones. The photos show the old cross rail system on the floor and the new cross rails attached to the underside of the cargo box. Now its just a matter of positioning the carrier box with the new towers and cross rails over the flush rails and tightening the tower clasps.Great value and great design. The only advice I would provide is to add a link to a youtube video showing the tower piece assembly. Couldn’t be more pleased with the design, and it saved me about $400.If I remember, I’ll update this review following our June trip north.

Great, at low speed
It was easy to install and very strong. Unfortunately it creates quite a whistle on top of my Honda pilot

Fits 2021 tahoe.
These worked good on my 2021 tahoe, they do whistle but its not too bad. Very pleased, could not find any aftermarket ones for my vehicle, so took a chance and for the price they will work great.

LOUD!
Tons of wind noise on our Mazda CX-5. These seem to be reviewed well just because they are cheap. Don't be fooled, they are loud. They do seem pretty sturdy though, hence two stars, but I haven't loaded much on them yet.

Sturdy but not so universal
I purchased these for my wife's 2014 Jeep Cherokee after doing my normal research and reading reviews. Though the rails on our Jeep fit the criteria posted or raised rails between 1 to 2" the original mounting would not work. The 6mm hex head bolt was not long enough to allow the mounting bracket arm to properly grab the rail on to of the Jeep. So I went to home depot and grabbed a longer bolt (6mm x100mm long) and was able too get the mounting brackets to fit. However, this meant the locking cover also had to be modified as well to fit over the bracket arm. The rails themselves are very sturdy. We drove 12+ hours right after I installed them with a cargo carrier on top with no issues. The bars did not loosen and had minimal wind noise with no whistling.

Absolutely as good as the OEM
Very easy to assemble. Took me fifteen minutes to install. Every corner has a keyed lock. Can be adjusted anywhere along the factory side rails except where the mounting points to the roof are. Comes with rubber inserts for the groove along the tops and the ends of the rails flip down so you can put it in and out and replace it with T bolts. I was a little surprised and disappointed to find that those T bolts are not included though. All in all these are 100% as sturdy, well made and nice looking as Subaru factory ones that sell for over 400 dollars.

Does not fit KIA Seltos
Did not hold on the rails of my KIA Seltos. Not enough grip. The "hook" (it not a real hook) does not go lower enough to grab on the rail. Kept popping out. A real danger if it happens during a trip on the road.
