This book is very scientific and in depth. Coupled with the very many photographs, it is a good book to be able to help familiarize yourself with what to look for when you’re out and about so you don’t miss out on these outer space visitors!!

Nice glossy pages with picture on every page. Nice color glossy pictures. This covers all meteors. I bought it because I wanted more info on a meteor slice I bought. The Muonionalusta meteor slice has a page just for that. I bought another book for $124 that had no pics and nothing about this meteor from Sweden. I love this book !

This book has allowed me to identify certain meteorites that I have found in southern Missouri I'm actually 4 miles due West of crooked Creek crater

Exactly what I wanted. A practical book. Not the kind of book you'd leave on your coffee table; it has more of an almost field guide feel to it.

Opening this book is a step back to the 70's in style, even though the information is up to date.Stinchcomb makes several grammatical errors, which can be excused, considering that he is not an English major.This is a good intermediate book. There is quite a bit of repetition within the pages, gets a little tedious at times.One extra value point is that he gives price ranges for various types of meteorite specimens, quite helpful if you are just exploring eBay for specimens.

This is the second copy of this book I have purchased. The first one is going to an educational children's camp along with some meteorite samples. I am keeping the second one for my collection. Remember,ignorance is curable.

The media could not be loaded. The book was tore on the corner and the side. Not happy about that.
