Dr. Radpour’s Pessary Assistant Really Works!
I received my Pessary Assistant eight days earlier than Amazon promised. I was relieved because I had so much trouble trying to grip the rim of my pessary to remove it on my own. My primary physician had to remove it for me back in December 2020. The specialist I saw never told me when she fitted me with the pessary that I might have difficulty removing it. When it started to irritate me, I searched the internet for a solution. I found Dr Christopher Radpour’s creation, the Pessary Assistant. I called Dr. Radpour’s office and left a message. He was kind enough to return my call that evening and answer all of my questions. I ordered the pessary remover that night. When I received it, I was able to remove my pessary on the second attempt. Thank you Dr. Radpour for your practical, clever and helpful invention. If you’re struggling to remove your pessary, I highly recommend Dr. Radpour’s Pessary Assistant. It really works!

Give it a fair chance!
The device definitely works! The people who say otherwise in their reviews just didn’t really try to use the device to its full potential. It works great for insertion because it holds the ring pessary (in the center) folded then you just push pessary in from there. That really helps with the frustration of the ring coming unfolded. For removal it works too, but I find it works best if you guide it in with a finger to the pessary hole. This is still much easier than retrieving pessary without assistance especially for people with dexterity issues that would make using both fingers for retrieval difficult. When done in this way it works, but I have not had luck getting it to go to the right location without guiding the tool to the location you need to hook. You cannot just stick it up there blindly like you may initially envision which is where some of the negative reviews may come from. That is not to say it doesn’t make removal more easy. Just have to be cautious to break suction before pulling. It was a genius invention. Helps me a lot. There is a learning curve initially grasping how to use.

Highly recommend for insert and removal
My hands are not strong enough to hold and insert a 3.00 pessary. This tool helped fixed that. Gives you a single instruction pamphlet how to use the tool. Worth the price.

VERY hard plastic
Had hoped I’d be in the group that this tool worked for. I wasn’t. It hurt. A lot. It seems it could have been manufactured out of a softer more bendable plastic, or even silicone. Unfortunately in this case, what you see is what you get. It’s as tough as it looks in the photo. Very uncomfortable and ineffective, and probably dangerous considering where you’re putting it!

Amazing!!!!
I was diagnosed with a severe bladder prolapse, and my urogynocologist suggested I try a pessary first, before considering surgery, because I have an otherwise healthy bladder. The pessary has been working perfectly, however, I was unable to remove it myself for cleaning. After doing some research, I found this pessary assistant, and ordered it right away. It works perfectly!!!! The video is so helpful, and I was able to remove and reinsert the pessary easily!! Thank you so much for this invaluable tool!!!

Needs improvement
I don't have a problem inserting my pessary but have a hard time getting it out. I have to use Estradiol vaginal cream which I get into my vagina via a small plunger. I think the plunger is pushing my pessary way up inside me even though I try to avoid hitting the pessary. I can touch the edge of the pessary with the tip of my finger but I can't reach the holes or even grasp the rim to pull it out. I only succeed in pushing the pessary further behind my pelvic bone. I had previously tried using a large crochet needle which didn't quite do the job as the handle wasn't long enough. Bought this pessary tool because the handle was longer and it was designed by a doctor. I think the pessary tool needs to be even longer, maybe 12 inches or so and the hook being slightly more open with a little less curve. With much effort, I can get this tool to hook the edge of the pessary to pull it down where I can grab the pessary with my fingers. Have a friend who told me she has to lie down on her bed to get the pessary in/out. I tried that and it seemed to help. When I was young and first married, I used a diaphragm for birth control and the tool for insertion and removal was about 12 inches long and it worked well. I wish I still had that tool cause I think it would work well with a pessary. You have to have a prescription for a diaphragm so I can't just buy the tool. I'm 68 years old.

This works so easily: get it!
I have used a vaginal est ring for years and never had a big problem removing it ….although it was always a bit of an unpleasant struggle. For some reason, I was unable to remove the last one I inserted. I did not want to go to the doctor to have it removed. Thankfully, I found this on Amazon. And thank you to the doctor who thoughtfully invented this for women. I will use this from now on to make an unpleasant task an easy one.

Doesn't work for me
I've seen a few other reviews that mirror my experience with this tool. I've tried twice to use it to take out the pessary, failed both times, and it left me feeling really uncomfortable inside for a few days afterwards due to the hook scraping in there as I tried to grab the pessary. My pessary rides high, and I can barely touch the edge of it with my finger. There's no way for me to "guide" the hook with my finger as the provided instructions say to do. I think it would be better if it could be at least coated with a softer material, handle more rounded (it's an inch wide by quarter inch), and maybe make it an inch longer. I have not been able to try the insertion end of the tool because I cannot remove the pessary with the hooked end. Glad it works for some, wish it worked for me.
