Constance: A Story of Early Plymouth

Constance
Over the top on the fantasy story. Too modern with the slang and no facts. Just too modernized to make a buck

Enjoyable
This was an easy fun read that gave me an idea of what it was like for those who wandered into the unknown. These were courageous people and I am happy to say that Constance like many others was my 10th great grandmother.

Must read!!!
I absolutely love this book! The author does a great job. It's story that is both funny and romantic. Constance is young and she's learning th effects she can have on a guy through giving a look or a little bit of attention. The havoc she creates with all th guys is amusing. She isn't doing it to be mean spirited which would not have been enjoyable to read. She just doesn't know the proper way to act. Her dads reaction to it is amusing as well! At one point he says a prayer out loud in front of everyone at the dinner table, including one of the guys she likes, about her behavior. It was so funny!!! It's a must read!

My annual tradition.
I read this book first as a young girl and have made it a point to read it every Thanksgiving and share this wonderful rich story of courage and love with my own daughters.

enjoyed reading about my direct ancestor
as a direct ancestor I enjoyed reading about her life, even if a fictionalized version (of course we can't know exactly the conversations). this was well written and painted a very good picture of what her young life was like. I really enjoyed it. only thing is I wish it kept going, but then I usually do, lol.

Great read. Written for teen readers of historical fiction
Great read. Written for teen readers of historical fiction, it stays close to the known storyline of the life of Constance Hopkins, who was one of the Mayflower passengers to the New World in 1620. Her father was an important member of the fledgling community, even though not originally a member of the religious contingent. For much more about him, see Caleb Johnson's "Here Shall I Die Ashore".

Hardships of the Plymouth Colony
Even though it was written for a young adult I enjoyed reading what life was liked from the viewpoint of Constance Hopkins. I went on line to read more about her family.
