Clarity BT914 Severe Hearing Loss Cordless Phone with BT914HS Expandable Handset

My wife and I are hearing impaired, so we needed a phone with good volume. It has a volume control for the ringer and voice , it has a good speaker and on top of that it has a boost button on the side , for easy access. I can use it without my hearing aids . It was easy to set up once you read the instructions , The instructions are simple but you should read them, especially for setting up the phone book and other set up items,. Range is very good, on first day I was on the phone reporting a cable down in the street outside my house. I walked outside with the phone while talking and I still had good signal. It also has good battery life but I haven't had the occasion to test that yet, have to wait for my sister calls, she'll test it for sure. Messages are also easy to hear. Very happy with this phone.

These phones were disappointing. The ringer is loud, but unless you want to take every call on speaker phone, the voice volume wasn’t any louder than a normal phone.Both phones quit working simultaneously after 6 months. Both stopped ringing one day, but would light up signaling a call coming in. Answer either phone, dead air, but answer both at the *same time* and only ONE of them would actually pick up the call. It was really strange, couldn’t figure out the problem. Couldn’t get a dial tone to dial out either. Wasn’t a problem with the phone line.Finally went to WalMart and bought a set of new cordless phones that are much, much louder, both ringer and voice volume.

Do not match descriptions for severely hard of hearing. Not good match at all.

I got it because my mom uses hearing aids. It is okay when uses the speaker phone, but the just using it normal the volume is not loud enough.

Finally, I was able to receive one that works. Previously I purchased the Clarity BT914 from two different vendors , neither worked properly. I went to Amazon and found the Clarity & made my third purchase. This time the vender was Clarity. The phone arrived promptly, but I needed to contact Clarity Tech. Support. They were outstanding, my questions were answered & my phone worked as it should. I need assistance with hearing and this phone really does the job. If you have a hearing problem I recommend this phone . Save yourself time, purchase through Amazon.

The product is not as advertised, and it is has low volume. I am very disappointed in the product's low quality and high price.

I bought this for my 91 year old mom with hearing loss. The volume is on the side so she is always accidentally turning volume down just holding the phone and then she can’t hear. But the most frustrating part is how sensitive the end button is it hits up against your cheekbone inside your ear and hangs up all the time. My mom can barely get a couple words in before she accidentally hanging up the phone again. Then she is confused and think somethings wrong, this is the worst phone by design for the elderly out of the many we have tried so far, and I tried many.

Bought this for my 85 year old mother who is hard of hearing and doesn’t like wearing her hearing aid. She likes the fact she can hear the phone when it rings and can also understand the people who call her. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone who is hard of hearing.

Excellent phones...finally my husband is able to make & receive calls & hear who he is talking to.

Purchased this phone for my 91 year old mother who has only moderate hearing loss, but wears hearing aids. She felt that the quality and "clairity" were really no better than her Panasonic cordless phone, but she liked the large buttons.After about 3 weeks the phones quit working all together. Similar to the previous review here, mom would hear an incoming call ring, but when she answered hello, she couldn't hear anyone on the other line. Conversely, I would call her line, and I couldn't hear her say hello. She was unable to even get a dial tone when she called out on her line. I tried changing the batteries, nothing.....I attempted to return the product through the seller "Layger", but was told they are only a retailer and have a 30 day refund policy, which had expired. He suggested I call the manufacturer, CLARITY and see if their warranty would cover it. It's been two weeks and I still haven't heard back from Clarity's customer service.STAY CLEAR of this product. It's crap, and CLARITY seems to have no interest in standing behind their product.
