Head Graphene XT Radical MP A is not a racket for competitive players.
Head Graphene XT Radical MP A is not a racket for competitive players. Just a mass produced commodity which may suit 3.5-4.0 club players. The plastic strip on top of the head is soft and not durable. You have to widen the holes with an owl or else strings will break prematurely. But worst of all is that the frame is just too frail.I initially bought 4 rackets for my son, who is a junior competitive player in December 2015. One of them cracked while he was practicing the serve in March 2016. Credit to Tennis Warehouse - they exchanged it without comments.I bought the fifth racket in Tennis Plaza in Tampa on April 1, 2016. My son cracked it in two spots while practicing the serve in the end of July 2016. I took it back to Tennis Plaza who sent it out to Head for inspection. To my surprise it came back with the following comment from Head:"Excessive wear on frame. Multiple ruptures on the frame are not covered under warranty. Excessive wear on both breaks"My son was down with pneumonia most of June and July, so the excessive wear happened within two months. He had 5 rackets for practice and tournaments during April and May!By now you probably think that my son is the next Federer. I wish! He's 13! He's a good Florida USTA player but he's not in the top 30!The excessive wear the Head inspector refers to is the plastic strip, which is in fact not durable, but is not the problem! It costs a few bucks to replace. The problem is the frail frame, not suitable for competitive play. Two out five rackets cracked within two months of practice and tournament play! Super high percentage.Competitive junior player and their parents should never buy Head Graphene XT Radical MP A.
