Loved it so much, I now have 3 in various colors!
This was purchased for me as a gift. I've always been a wool coat wearer and felt it was time to change it up and buy warmer coats (I got tired of layering). My husband swears by puffer jackets so I decided to go in different stores to try them on first. I have found a couple that I thought looked good, but once I took them home, they made me look and feel huge. Puffer coats in stores were either too shiny (like garbage bags), too long, too poofy or with nondetachable fur hoods. I saw this Nautica coat at Macy's website with glowing reviews, but they did not carry my size. So glad Amazon had these available! These were purchased from Amazon directly for peace of mind with authenticity. My husband ordered me 2, but I loved the fit and look so much I now have 3 all together! *The first 2 ordered did have manufacturer's defects (no fault of Amazon) and I requested an even exchange and they arrived quickly!*For reference I'm 5'1", 98Ibs, 34A and slim. I got the black, marine and chrome, the chrome appears much darker in person vs the stock photos. I got lucky and mine all came with the white faux fur hoods, the first 2 that had defects came with brown faux fur. The hood is a bit big with adjustable strings. This coat is fit for petites in my opinion because the XS fit me perfectly! It hits right below my bum which I love! The coat is very form fitting, light weight and doesn't look too poofy at all. The sleeves are not long (I have short arms), doesn't feel snug and the lycra thumb hole sleeve is comfortable (you can tuck it in if you don't want to use it). I love the fleece lining inside the hip side pockets. The side pockets are rather small and can fit my iPhone 5. All the zippers run smooth and the Nautica zipper emblems are a nice touch. I don't find them too flashy like some hardware in coats/jackets. I'm not sure if the shell of the coat has been sprayed with water resistance as I've not worn it out in rain or snow. I have worn it in 30 degrees fahrenheit windy afternoons with just a short sleeve thin shirt on and felt warm! **ETA: We finally hit below freezing temps today (1/18/16) and this coat has kept me nice and warm (with a long thermal undershirt and thin acrylic long sleeve sweater). Also did not need a scarf, the collar kept my neck warm. The hood surprisingly kept my entire head warm without having the need to use the adjustable strings (it was not windy, but it was freezing!)***I'm glad to receive this as my first puffer coat! It has kept me warm (in this weird up and down wonky east coast weather) without making me look like a marshmallow. The quality of this coat is great for the price Amazon offers it at, terrific buy!

Too bad it had awfully messed up stitching
I purchased a lower quality, Larry Levine coat from Burlington. It was very cute, feminine, and fitted. Too bad it had awfully messed up stitching. I started looking for something better. I spent hours looking for a light colored coat as cute as the LL one. I did not want anything poorly made like that one. After reading such complaints on other coats I went with this Nautica Coat. I had a feeling this company would not let me down. It was a little too puffy and on that alone I wanted to return it. I am 5'9 and long/slender build so the sleeves were a bit short too. It was so warm though and I sweated after wearing it five minutes of trying it on, I did some research and found that Polyester filling is not as warm so to get the same effect as down coats there needs to be more Polyester filling. The benefit of Polyester is that it keeps you dry, even if the coat gets wet, it will dry much quicker. There were "prettier" more feminine coats that had down filling and probably wouldn't be so fluffy but this one is quality. The inside of the pockets is a soft plushy material and they have strong durable zippers that I sometimes abuse like a purse! I may have stretched them out a bit but that's my fault. Anyway, the zipper on the arm is a nice touch, a show of quality, and the color is like snow. It is very warm and I am in MN and grew up here so there is a reason I decided this coat was going to be the one! The fur lining on the hood is fluffy and has some dark gray which is the best imo. Reminds me of husky colors. Not saying I want a dog on my coat but it's pretty like a husky. Besides that, I didn't like the idea of the black inner sleeve for your hands. I thought about how dirty the sleeves could get if they were more fitted. This is the best feature for a light colored jacket (genius!). You can choose to put your thumb in the sleeve if you're cold. Or leave them out if you are busy so your pretty coat wont get a smudge. I have seen some rough tough looking sleeves and these do not have a mark after one month of every day use with 3 kids. The coat is very durable and I believe it will last through many more winters here in Minnesota.

Favorite Coat as warm & almost as light as down coat so Vegans can buy!
At first I ordered this in an Extra Large because there were enough reviews telling me to get the next size up, even the next size up over the larger of the 2 sizes I am in between. I read reviews written by people who were built more like me, with the same height. It turns out that I returned the extra large and purchased an size Large instead. I am usually a large in coats like this because my shoulders are relatively wider than my ribcage around my bust, 34-36 C to D (especially if i go up and down in weight) and because I am 5'8 and 1/2 inches. I was about 140 pounds when I purchased the coat, and although I am now 133 pounds, it is still good, especially with layering underneath. (When coats were made, for ex, by Vic's Sec in the past, they often made tall coats, so I took my regular size, but I need the size up for regular coats that are not tall sizes) I love the brown color of this coat because it also blends in well with burgandy and wine colors I wear in clothing, and can even match a blackened or brownish color wine or burgandy. The coat is soooooo warm in a good way. I am VEGAN and it replaces the down coats I used to get which Ithought were the only way to stay warm, but now I know thats not true. Btw, I have long arms, and the sleeves are long enough, especially with the extended inner black sleeve that goes around your hand. After purchasing the brown, I also purchased this coat in Black but not throughAmazon.

Nice and warm jacket.
I'm 5'0 and it fits nicely. Got the Marine colour and came with a tan/brown faux fur hood. Quality of the jacket is really nice and is very warm when going out in the cold. The pockets like other reviewers have mentioned have a really soft fleece lining which a great touch to the jacket
