The paperback is large, but still easier to handle as reference than the hardcover
This is an excellent reference book to have for any serious Catholic or one who is seeking for a logical and well categorized compendium of the faith. Wish I had this for the many years, now passed, especially when discerning my conversion to the Catholic faith, but there is always more to learn as you try to live the faith.

Much larger than ao thought it would be. I ended up buying aa different cover for it.
I had a cover I was going to use to protect it (since I handle it often and I don't want it getting messed upbut I didn't realize it would be so large and it doesn't fit. I kept the Catechism because ai really like it, and ordered a different cover.

1829 reprint
Though the print may not be as easy on the eyes, I already have to use reading glasses for most of what I read so this is not a problem - an orthodox catechism for anyone who wants to know what the Catholic faith is. Many 'traditionalists' who have become incensed by the twisting of the proposition of baptism of desire into masonic universal salvation by the apostate novus ordo sect started at Vatican II fail to remember passages like this from this catechism promulgated by the Sainted Pope PIus V - under 'baptism' pp. 124-25 in this edition:"On this class of persons, however, [baptism of adults] the Church does not confer this Sacrament hastily; she will have it deferred for a certain time; nor is the delay attended with the same danger as in the case of infants, which we have already mentioned: and should any unforeseen accident deprive adults of baptism, their intention of receiving it, and their repentance for past sins, will avail them to grace and righteousness."I understand where these people are coming from but...it's hard to argue with passages like that which seem to amptly demonstrate the mind of the Church and God's mercy on those who have 'good will' towards Him.

Understanding Catholicism
I’ve been looking for a catechism that really gets into the details of Catholicism and this is it. I enjoy reading it and I get a much better understanding overall of what is important for me to understand in my faith. I’ve only just started reading it, but have learned so much

Thanks for the Kindle edition!
I bought this for my Kindle because the current Catechism is not yet available in Kindle format. (Hopefully, that will be rectified soon!) In any event, this is a wonderful resource in its own right. Also known as the "Roman Catechism," it was promulgated under the Council of Trent and written by leading Catholic theologians of the day.The only reason I've deducted one star is that the Kindle formatting has a fairly significant problem. The table of contents takes up a lot more space than it should, and is hard to navigate, because it includes many lines of "dot leaders" carried over from the print edition. That makes it difficult to go from place to place in the Catechism.Other than that, I am grateful that this work has been made available.

Love Taylor Marshall and love his recommendation to read the Catechism of the Council of Trent!
I was watching a podcast the other day and this book was recommended ... so ... of course ... I looked for it on Amazon and ordered it right-a-way. Love it and takes one to the source of many decisions about our beliefs before the liberals got involved in the Church teachings (ie. Vatican II). Read it. Learn. Rejoice.

UnReadable
Only the Cover is readable to the unaided eye.The Font is between 6 and 6.5, and with a 50% dot fill, like a kids comic book, only a little finer, so it's not the same quality your home printer would produce with a 6-6.5 point Font. (Yes I used a microscope to learn this .) [Comparison photo ] attachedIt is a photocopy of a book complete with page shadows and filling a fraction of the book as it should have . [Photo of this also attached]If the company had any ethics they would offer a full refund. But this was no accident.

Fine text
The text is fine and all readable. The fact that it is a PDF reprint doesn't reduce the text quality but does reduce the price!

Catechism of Trent
This is a serious Catechism, written in serious and formal language. It is definitely not a lightweight. If you think the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) is a heavy read, then this is definitely not the book for you. It takes a fair bit of concentration to read, but it is meant to be read slowly and its teaching digested. Not a book for bedside reading, but if you really want to know the Catholic Faith at its deepest level, this is one of the best Catechisms you can buy.

The very clearly written English translation by T. A. Buckley of the Catechism of the Council of Trent
The Theodore A. Buckley translation of the Catechism of the Council of Trent [Trentino, Italy,1566] is very clearly written, being easy to follow. This edition did not include any notes. I was rather hasty in returning this translation, basing my decision on the comments of others.I now have the version on order that has the notes as well as the principal text, the Catechism.
