It works. Period.
I was kinda skeptical of this, so I bought only the 1-pack to test it out. Yes, the stuff does smell, but that's what flies like so...it's outside anyways so what does that matter?Anyways, long story short, this picture is only from about 2 hours being outside. They said to mix the stuff hours before you put it out, but I mixed it and put it outside immediately and it's already the new hangout spot for the flies. You can't see it, but there are a lot more inside there on the sides and under the cap.I live down the road from a dumpster that has been attracting a lot of flies and have had some get inside my place, so I put this on the other side of my driveway under a tree, so they wouldn't swarm too close. I might move it a little further away just to keep them from getting any closer than they need to be. For now they're very distracted by the trap.If it attracted this many flies in just 2 hours, I'm sure it's going to fill up fast. I will absolutely be buying more of these. Very effective.

Buy them NOW! More than one!
3 days. These were out for only 3 days!!! These are the REAL DEAL!! If I could, I’d give a thousand stars. I’m absolutely shocked. The pics are two different traps. One in the front yard, one in the back. We have trees that drop berries, and the flies really like them, so just as the trees began to drop the berries, I put the traps out. I didn’t want flies getting in the house when we open a door. I will buy these for life!!

Missing the cover but still works
Mine didn't come with the white cover but it seems to work fine anyway. We usually have hot, very dry weather during fly season and the trap dries out so I refill the water through the top holes when I'm watering the garden.I put it at the edge of our yard near a yard where the owners rarely clean up their dog's poop, so it stinks anyway.

NOT STRONG ANYMORE
UPDATE: After 7 days, this thing is wonderfully stinky attracting hundreds of fies and trapping them in. It is a pleasure to watch their bodies sink in the stinky liquid and I hope this helps decrease the fly population so I can cook in peace and keep my windows open. If only my neighbirs could tie a knot on their trash bags before tossing them in the bin, the flies would not lay their eggs in their trash and those millions of magots would not grow to flies that storm my kitchen. So far, I will keep using this trap. I hope I win the battle with neighbors that do not collaborate.ORIGINAL: I have bought these fly traps in the past and they were amazing. All the flies from the neighborhood would be instantly attracted to its potent smell and no flies would come inside our house no matyer what we cooked. The potent smell of the bait was way stronger than the smell of our fish or steak.Well... Not anymore.I set up this trap 4 days ago and the flies are more attracted to my kitchen than to the trap. The odor of the bait is very mild. Not stinky enough to attract the flies.I guess I will have to throw some fish inside the trap or anything else that the flies may think is more attractive that this mild bait.I would not waste my money buying more bait.I will keep the jar and make my own stinky fly bait. For those that complained that the previous bait was stinky... well that is what is needed to attract the flies. If you handle the stinkiness for a few weeks you do not need to handle the flies all year long. And one tip: if everybody tie a knot on the trash bags instead of just pulling the strings, the flies can't reproduce inside your trash and this alone controls fly population.I hope this review helps.

Smells bad but works good
It works great but smells like hell after it’s been sitting with the flys in it for several days. I don’t know how long it’s supposed to be up before emptying it (assuming it’s not overflowing) but I had it up for about 10 days actively working. It got pretty full but I hung it up in between my back door and garage door and I mostly couldn’t take the smell anymore any time I walked by to get to the garage. Other than the smell, 10/10 effectiveness. I just bought a pack of refills so I can hang it back up.

Very impressive and gross!
The media could not be loaded. I’m actually extremely pleased with this purchase I live right next to an area where people frequently let their dogs relieve themselves, but they often don’t clean up after them. So as a result, it does attract a lot of flies and in the summer, especially the flies get a lot worse. We ended up investing in one of these fly traps, and I am extremely pleased outcome. I do still see flies, but I can see that the flies have been caught and there are less flies. I ended up purchasing a second fly trap that just got here today. I went out to empty my first fly trap and I was amazed with how many flies that caught. My Husband refilled it above the fill line without telling me, but it still ended up catching a lot of flies even after that, even though it had been refilled above the line which I’m extremely pleased with because I was worried that it wouldn’t work since there was so much more water in it now I included a video of me dumping out the flies, so please don’t judge my voice, but I wanted to share this is a great product. I do have to warn whoever is reading whenever you pick up the container and ship the water a little bit. A really nasty odor does come out and the fly bait itself does stink whenever initially pouring and mixing it, but it obviously catches the flies, so I’m OK with that. I do definitely recommend and I will be buying again in the future if needed (which I hope not) as I already have had my second purchase and refills

BRINGS WAY TOO MANY FLIES, REPRODUCE INSIDE (only used for 2-3 days)
This fly trap works very well to trap flies and will fill up quickly!! When I purchased, I didn’t necessarily have a bad fly problem, just a few annoying flies here and there from the apartment trash cans across from my patio. But after 2-3 days, this thing was more than halfway full and there were 100+ flies in my small patio. The flies reproduced in the jar causing maggots, larva, and baby flies that can come out the top! The liquid must of evaporated rather quickly but I couldn’t bare to add more water considering how many flies were surrounding this thing and the conditions inside the jar. This would work well for a 1 day solution but I would not recommend for long term use!!
