Apple MacBook Air MC505LL/A 11.6-Inch Laptop (OLD VERSION)

I ordered the MacBook Air April 25th got it 28th so fast shipping. I am extremely pleased with how the MacBook operates I was very skeptical about ordering a refurbished product but it so far is working extremely well. The MacBook Air has scratches on the top of the device but no dents anywhere, keyboard is in tact fully functional, trac pad/ touch pad is great have to get used to it. Device was clean when I got it, however the devices soft ware was extremely out of date. Contacted apple they helped guide me installing each operating system and actually saved me on memory, when I got the device it had the previous owners documents almost all the memory was used up. After the deletion of the apps and the documents and installing the new OS came in with just 5GBs to spare had 41GB after install and deletion of documents. I was disappointed because I had to wipe it out my self, it should’ve arrived “refurbished” of previous apps and documents, especially leaving other people’s personal information out there not a good look for the company that sent it out to me or amazon. Nonetheless I’m happy with it physically and internally I will make a 2 month update on how it’s working. I recommend buying a refurbished computer from amazon, but also I would purchase apple care along with it just in case.

If all you need is a light-weight, portable computer for simple tasks both online and offline, this is a pretty good choice. It's slim, lightweight, and functional. The speed is slow compared to the larger, heavier MacBook models and the small screen is a problem if you're looking for much graphic work. But most of what I need is web surfing and word processing and for that it is great. I'm especially happy with the battery life as it is twice as long as my older laptops. Of course I don't watch movies on it or anything like that so I can't say much there.The problems I have with this machine aren't specific to this model but more about Macs in general. I often need an ethernet port for internet connection as not everywhere I travel has wireless. Thus I have to lug my heavier, much older laptop around for that purpose. (It would be nice if they at least provided some sort of adapter or something but I haven't found one that works.) The other issues I have are things like the poor keyboard. While the spacing is workable in the newer keyboards I miss being able to assign F keys myself instead of having them assigned. Also the purpose of an eject key on a computer that has no internal media reader is rather silly. It's obviously designed to be used for ALL models but since they are so determined to do away with all external media types they might want to rethink things. Another issue for me is screen resolution because I get a headache from the 'widescreen' dimensions. But that last is a personal issue that not many people will have to worry about. The marks and minor damages on the laptop make it apparent that it was used, but I did not really care about that much.The most annoying part was that the celler did not even erase all their files before sending it in.I bought another used macbook a year ago and except couple of very small scratches, there was nothing else wrong with the computer, but I bought that one for about 650$ and this one for about half of the price, so it is kind of understandable.It is pretty slow and noisy most of the time. I was thinking of sending it back after about a week, but it was the middle of the academic year, so I did not want to go for risk.Overall if you really like macbook and are very limited in budget, this is certainly an option, but if you can save a bit more and get one later, maybe you should rather wait?

This product may be clean and presentable but once you start using it, you'll regret your money. Not only is it slow but it's not even updated. Additionally, I can't use Youtube because it keeps reloading over and over again and all of this happened after using it for less than three hours. The worst part is that it freezes about every 15 min! I'm highly dissatisfied and just in case you were wondering, it doesn't come in the originally Mac Box.(I already knew that) But overall, I highly suggest you save your money until its enough to buy a DESCENT, FULLY-FUNCTIONING mac.
