New pump worked fine

I used this to replace my shower box pump on my boat. It pumps a good amount of water and was easy to install. It runs quietly as well.

I just purchased a replacement for my 12 year old Sahara S500 bilge pump. The old one quit working automatically but still works with the manual switch after 12 years of service. This is on a boat kept in a marina and it has to pump out rain water regularly. I even had a leak for a few months and it had to kick on every few hours. I am very impressed with its longevity and purchase the same model to replace it.

Very nice pump, installed as a secondary pump in my boat. Can be wired to run manually or automatic.

Ordered this pump last night. Got it this morning at 7AM. Installed it after work and tested it. Works great! And the bonus is it's the exact same shape as the previous one so it fit perfect in the shower sump box. No mod required.

I finally decided to write a review on this garbage. Our boat came with one of these installed. We've systematically replaced failed units almost every18 months. We seriously don't get 2 seasons out of them (fresh water, out of water for 8 months) For $60 these units are incredibly cheaply built. The only reliable thing about them is that they fail on a consistent and reliable schedule. If you rely on an auto-bilge pump to keep your boat from sinking due to rain or waves while moored, avoid this. Water seems to be getting into the upper supposedly waterproof housing where there are open switch contacts (for the float sensor). Once wet, these contacts corrode and simply fail, thus preventing the pump from operating once the float rises. I popped the top of the unit I just pulled out and took a picture (attached) so you can see just how cheap these things are.
